@MarksLarks Another similar one ran aground near Portsmouth. It was there for years, I could see it from my bedroom window

People in rowing boats and on the beach, looking up at a submarine, which ran aground on Hastings beach in February 1919 whilst being towed to Scapa Flow before being scrapped. The U-118 served in the Imperial German Navy during the First World War.
