@McFlybowy Interesting pitch. I remember Anelka, he was 17. Tore the rule book up. I think Kroupi gives off the same vibe 🤷🏻♂️

Arsenal’s recruitment priority for the striker role can’t be Eli Kroupi, it has to be Julián Álvarez.
You’re talking about a team that is no longer building for “potential” alone, this current Arsenal side is built to dominate now. They already have one of the youngest elite cores of players in Europe with players like Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard, William Saliba and Declan Rice entering or approaching their prime years. What they need is a killer, somebody already tested at the highest level.
Julián Álvarez gives you everything Arteta wants in a modern striker. Pressing intensity, movement, technical quality, work rate, mentality, versatility. He’s not just a goalscorer, he’s a complete attacking weapon. He can drop deep, combine with midfielders, attack space, play alongside another forward or lead the line alone. And most importantly, he already understands what it means to win major trophies and perform under pressure. He’s a World Cup winner.
That is the difference. A talent like Eli Junior Kroupi is exciting for the future, but Arsenal are beyond “maybe in three years.” This squad is one elite striker away from becoming a dynasty-level side. When you’ve spent years building the structure, you don’t gamble at the final step. You bring in certainty.
You can already imagine the chemistry too. Ødegaard feeding Álvarez between the lines, Saka stretching defenders wide, Rice controlling transitions, the press from the front becoming even more aggressive. Arsenal would become terrifying without the ball and ruthless with it.
And honestly, Álvarez also fits the emotional side of this project. Arsenal fans love players that fight for the badge, players that run like every duel matters. He has that South American fire in him. Emirates would connect with him instantly. He’s the Right Guy.

@woodysirish Ah Woody, don’t do it to yourself. There are too many ‘what ifs’. I’m just gonna try and see if Bournemouth can put in a shift and see how the Spuds get on 😅

@campbellclaret @BurnleyOfficial @Arsenal Tbh Alastair, if you’d played like that, with that much fire, you might have stayed up. Sadly, we are everyone’s ‘cup final’ 🤷🏻♂️

Well no Citeh fans can say @BurnleyOfficial didn’t make a go of it tonight. Very competitive and had several decent half chances. @Arsenal pretty dull to watch and despite all that is at stake the atmosphere in the Emirates was poor. Not a bad turnout for Burnley for a night game in London when already relegated, though it was quite good fun working out how many in our end were Arsenal fans pretending to be Burnley.

With respect to my colleagues in the football writing industry, I am stunned that Bruno Fernandes has been named FWA Footballer of the Year instead of Declan Rice. Rice has literally won more matches this season (35) than Fernandes has even played (34).

@robbietaylor_86 What is the opposite of ‘rose tinted glasses’ 🤦🏻♂️

@now_arsenaI I feel so bad for them as an Arsenal fan. Their story is no longer a comedy. It is starting to look like a tragedy and we should support them if we can. The premier League won't be the same without them
