@Brick_Cop @metpoliceuk Why wouldn’t you send ARV? IMO the best trained and equipped officers. They will always seek to use the least amount of force to resolve but have the capability to escalate where necessary. Probably the most underused resource who want to be used more.

We did it!
The team have arrived at John O’Groats at the end of a 1,022 mile journey from Lands End.
There’s been thrills, spills, and near misses - laughs, frustrations, broken chains and punctures.
But the most WONDERFUL thing about this bike ride has been the people. The handlers, the riders, the staff, the biking companions from the services @The_NFRSA supports; the hosts who have put us up; the little children who pressed £5 notes into our hands at coffee stops; and of course the visits to our wonderful services.
It’s been an extraordinary journey, with so much help and support and hard work from a dedicated team who have made this happen.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, for everything.
And if you haven’t yet donated, please would you consider doing so - this bike ride has been for our retired service animals and their families, & we must continue to look after them.

Note from Lady B. ‘Morning all, today is a rest day and I’m so looking forward to taking my team to visit @policedogunit this morning. Im terribly behind with my blogs, but will try and catch up later today - but I did want to say something very important. There are a huge number of people who have been involved in this bike ride, not just me. The management committee, trustees, ambassadors they’ve all pitched in to help and support. But in particular, the management committee, who have been working for months on our adventure. Diaries. Bookings. Organising visits. Organising volunteers. Organising the loveliest of surprises to keep me going. Organising companion riders of which there have been many, (they’ve all been amazing), stops, routes, bikes, and dealing with disasters when they happen with complete calm. Organising volunteer drivers, mostly committee, with some great friends helping. Keeping the home fires burning while I’ve been away. There are so many people behind me, and with me, including my darling school friend Alice Macaire, and Tom from @CotswoldTV who have been there very step of the way, either on a bike, or cheering on the roadside, and I wanted to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you, you know who you are. You’ve put everything into this, your time (a huge amount of time), your effort, and your love, and it shows every day. I could not have done this, or continue to do it without you and I’m so grateful to you all. To our wonderful volunteers hosts who have put us up and loved us for the time we’ve stayed with you - a huge thank you. And to you, our supporters out there, thank you for the love and encouragement, and the donations. Please keep them coming, it will mean we can help more of our retired service animals, and their families, when they need us the most. PD Reggie was deployed to railway sidings in Crewe after reports of a male throwing rocks at trains. NPAS locate the male but lose him in deep undergrowth. Reggie located the male who decided to run, but Reggie quickly detained him. Arrested for criminal trespass on the railway.

@scotty_fi So sad Jackie. He was an amazing police dog and will be greatly missed. Be comforted by the fact that because of PD Guinness there is a young boy out there who was found and given a second chance by preventing him from taking his life! RIP big fella 💙

We are very sad to announce the passing of PD Guinness. He was a phenomenal police dog, serving & protecting throughout his short career and awarded a Chief Constable’s commendation during that time. RIP Guinn, keeping a watchful eye over your handler who misses you dearly🐾🌈💙

We're deeply sad to announce the passing of our Ambassador, Retired Police Dog Finn at the age of 14. He leaves a huge legacy behind, having saved the life of his handler PC Dave Wardell on duty, whilst he himself had been stabbed multiple times. Following his recovery, Finn and Dave then went on to campaign for Finn's law which gave greater protection for service animals across the United Kingdom. Our thoughts are with Finn's family at this very difficult time. Finn, your legacy will live on, may you stand down with pride. RIP Finn, 2009-2023 💙🌈💙🐶

PD Toro assisted officers in Macclesfield this afternoon with the search for a High Risk Missing Person. Toro tracked through woodland from where they were last seen and flushed the person out to waiting officers.
