😭I GOT THE JOB!! Despite never having formally worked in the violence prevention/victim support sector (i.e for an organisation) but qualified by yrs of experience (after my rape) as an individual practitioner (with peer quals), I even beat police officers to the position!! They

🥹 I met the service leader & even though it’s a new role to the Trust (supporting assaulted staff & liaising with police etc) & 3 pay bands higher (!!) than my current role, once I shared my knowledge & experience she suggested I apply when the advert goes live! So pleased 💖

@GMB The NCRS say ALL cases with hate in them must be recorded! The government created the situation whereby the police have no choice but to record this incident! I can almost guarantee this will be closed at source but it will still be a recorded incident.

Today was a very emotional day for the Ruston family. Receiving my MBE at Buckingham Palace from HRH Princess Royal. My one wish, that my mum was still here to share the day. She passed away just before the team delivered G7. This was for her and my colleagues past and present.

@JJSharpers Good luck! For so many people it’s the test, not the fitness level that creates so much anxiety. We’ve dropped the annual bleep test at BTP. It’s just for new starters and transferees when they first apply. And then poor fitness is dealt with like any other performance issue.

@JJSharpers I feel your anxiety. I failed mine at Heathrow during Covid due to wearing the face covering. I felt crap on many levels. Passed the retest at Empress. The instructor was amazing and colleagues support too. You will b fine! :-)

Of course things are slightly different up north. (Our ARVs have two officers not three) And perhaps the biggest thing missing from this thread is the lack of discharges at all these incidents.

We thought it would be useful to show what we do every day to support our unarmed colleagues and help keep the people of London safe. We know we use too many abbreviations, so we will explain them. BCU is Basic Command Unit, the areas London is split into for policing. A thread.

My mother went missing in a storm at night after living well with #dementia for five years. @NWPolice officers found her, searched for anyone who recognised her, took her home, fed her, dressed her for bed, danced and sang with her. They went above and beyond. @NWP_CCBlakeman

An incredibly sad day. @ChrisJohnsonQPM was an amazing man and police leader. Great values. Always had time for people. Inspirational as he faced #MND . He leaves a huge legacy and many friends @WMPolice Rest now friend.
