#ROADCLOSURE | The Snake Pass near Glossop is closed in both directions following a serious collision. Motorists should avoid the area until further notice.

This weekend coming (1/2 june) is Glossop Heritage weekend. Doesnt directly affect Snake, but theres road closures through Glossop which will affect ease of access to and from the Snake. Personally, I'll be trying to avoid both. If heritage is your thing, might be worth a visit

1153 thursday. Fyi woodhead has a truck that spilled its load on one of the bridges abiut 4 hours ago. Likely to be pretty crowded up there.

@snakepasswest The latest set of lights just before the top of the Snake were stuck on red on both sides yesterday. No-one could see the other end so we had no idea what was going on until we all decided to bite the bullet & go.

@Derbyshirecc Genuinely dont know how you can claim that important issues are dealt with in 2 hours if we cant even get through to someone to report it.

@Derbyshirecc attempting to report stuck/not working traffic lights on the Snake is a farce. The number given is "only for perm lights" and an alternative contact number went to someone who had no idea where the road is, let alone where/how many lights are on it. Absolute farce.

@snakepasswest And due to all the traffic at Ladybower, I nearly took another one out. He was filtering and although I signalled and manoeuvred, I failed to check my mirror. Just glad he stopped in time.

Easter sunday. 1140am. Queues on snake just after the golf course. Air ambulance on scene. Dont plan on going over snake in the next 3 hours.

Fatality on the Snake. On Easter Sunday someone didn't go home. A family lost someone they loved. Road fatalities are not a foregone conclusion. We do not look to apportion blame. The message is: Dont drive/ride like a dick. Be courteous. Everyone has a right to get home safe.
