@stevedudley_ @PatchBirding Two Garden Warblers here today. Wheatears, Alba Wags and Mippits excluded, that's doubled my august tally of migrant passerines!
English

@PatchBirding @snettsbirder A migrant warbler at last! I watched this Lesser Whitethroat bounce along the road and into the garden. The track/roads from the lighthouse zig-zags for three miles but I regularly see/follow birds making their way inland along it after landing at Noup Head. #WestrayBirding

NRBO is now Bluesky. Head over and give us a follow at: bsky.app/profile/northr…

Exactly this.
Like Fred (and many others!) I have finally done the same. Now posting on Bluesky as @papaybirder

Twitter used to be great. Musk has turned it into a complete cesspool. Time to move to Bluesky and be free from his relentless ads & propaganda. Will be closing this account soon. Must remember to wipe my feet on the way out.

"seawatching" and "midges" are not two things you would normally find in the sentence. Unfortunately, today was one such day. In spite of being (at times) borderline unbearable , 477 Manx, 64 Sooty and another Great Shearwater west between 06:05 - 09:45 @BirdGuides

@itvnews Sheer unadulterated bollocks. Since when was 'size of a rat' a unit of measurement?? How big is a rat anyway?? FFS can you not do better than this drivel? How about celebrating a rare bit of good news in British nature.
English

@birds_and_me @BirdGuides Indeed. Still plenty of time for more...

Another two Great Shearwater west this morning between 05:55 and 07:25 @BirdGuides 2nd bird through the middle of the tidal bore so prob not much more than 500m out. Now seven birds in two years, after waiting seven years to get my first!

DNA results from @docmartin2mc on the potential Iberian Chiffchaff found at Hunley by @IanKendall12 earlier in the year have proved it had a Willow Warbler mother @teesbirds1

News from @NRonBirdObs prompted a late evening dash up to Mull Head. Wasn't expecting to score, but expectations surppassed with three Great Shearwater west between 06:35 and 19:50 including two birds together in the last five minutes @BirdGuides

Autumn is slowly inching to the fore. Seabirds moving, the first drift migrants turning up, waders passage in full swing and vismig getting in to gear. What are you looking forward to most on your patch? #PWC2024

@PatchBirding Pitching a tent at Mull Head, the evening the wind drops after a few days of strong North Westerlies. Waking up already there, cooking porridge with a portable gas canister and hopefully enjoying a big Sooty day...

A selection of the 6(!) White-rumped sandpipers at snettisham this morning! Along with Black tern, Curlew sands, Little stints, a singing Turtle dove. Quite a good morning to say the least. Thanks to @DEBALMER and Pete for helping track where they all were to try to get a count.

Finally it falls. Cory's Shearwater west past Mull Head at 14:50 this afternoon @BirdGuides @RareBirdAlertUK Good scope views of what becomes my 250th island species and a fair bit closer than my only other previous sighting, past the Farnes in 2014
English

Surprise Red throated Diver on Treadwell this morning @PatchBirding May not sound like much, but the first Diver I have ever recorded on there in almost eight years on Papay. A patch within a patch, mini #PatchGold
