Right in the middle of my recording, “Thade Rahiyo” started playing from a distance and I just couldn’t resist trying it out myself 🎶. One of the most challenging songs ever by Lata ji🙏❤️

There’s something magical about singing in a space that sings back to you. Felt like performing this raga at the Dome at Yatra garden and the natural acoustics were simply unbelievable. Every note felt alive, resonating effortlessly through the space. Sharing a glimpse of it.

What touched me the most was her humility and thoughtfulness. Towards the end, she suggested the composer Shankar-Ehsan-Loy ji to record couple of lines in my vocal and even encouraged her granddaughter to contribute. I walked away deeply inspired as a person.

It was truly an unforgettable experience working with the legendary Asha ji for the very first time. I vividly remember that day. She was scheduled to record “Bande Utkala Janani” and I had been called in to translate the lyrics for her and provide a vocal reference..cont..⤵️

Despite not being in the best health and dealing with a persistent cough, her commitment was extraordinary. She patiently went through each line, asking for its meaning with deep curiosity and sincerity. Watching her immerse herself in every word was incredibly moving…
