Because men build their entire worth around provision. Tell a man to look after his children and he reminds you he is a provider, Tell him to assist with chores, he reminds you he is a provider. Why can’t we pay for services individually and directly?
Why must we pay a group of people to “represent us” - a euphemism for robbing us to spend on their pet projects?
We could pay for water, sewer, garbage service, fire, and even police as subscriptions instead of taxes.

My property taxes are nuts (>$60k) Why should two families using the same roads, schools, and services pay wildly different property taxes just because one house is worth more? Did one house get way better garbage pickup? Same services. Same city. It should be the same bill.
