We run the risk of changing the context of portions of the letters, to suit a position in an argument.
Being led by the Spirit really doesn’t speak to receiving instructions on particular matters. Paul was establishing our transition from death to life, darkness to light, and in this case: flesh to Spirit.
Before we were owned by the flesh, and we controlled by it. Now we are led by the Spirit and controlled by Him. You can see that if you check the root meaning of the word led

Whether we hear specific instructions , or we use our God given wisdom, Paul is establishing that we are being driven like an animal- towards eternal glory. He’s establishing that no matter what happens, because we are sons of God, our outcome is sure:
Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Romans 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
No matter what, or how, your decision making goes, or how it looks, the outcome is for your good.

5. The Lord will direct your steps by aligning circumstances for your good
Read Romans 8 properly. Verse 14 has a context. It wasn't a proof-text for "hearing."

What if the spiritual wickedness in the high places sends a memo to change the coven time to 12pm-3pm. So the evil day will befall you because you didn't quickly adapt to the coven meeting time frame? Do we need to access their intranet to prevent qourum for the evil day.

We live in a world of over eight billion people, many of whom do not yet know the Lord. There are still countless souls to be reached, yet much of our energy is spent debating whether the few who have received Christ can lose their salvation.
Our assignment is clear: teach, preach, instruct, correct, and help perfect those who have been made saints through faith. We are not called to sow seeds of fear and uncertainty in people as though they were purchased by our blood.
Our blood did not save anyone. Therefore, the authority to eternally condemn, validate, or invalidate another person does not belong to us.
Christ is the One who purchased them, and He alone is the righteous Judge.
Our responsibility is to restore the weak, correct in love, strengthen faith, and examine ourselves. We should be more concerned about the beam in our own eyes than the speck in our brother’s eye.

Anybody with a sincere heart, and an intelligent mind, searching the writings of the epistles, would come to the conclusion that it is impossible for anyone who has put their trust in God to “lose their salvation”.
We’re debating it, because the weak ones, with feet wobbly are being threatened that, if they don’t fast track their transformation (something that is the work of the Holy Spirit), God will cast them away.
It’s wicked, and Pharisitic, and proof that the peddlers of this teaching, never understood God’s grace, or received it fully.
We know everyone will manifest the fullness of Christ before He returns.

To be honest, anyone who has read the Bible for themselves, and invested in deep study, would find it difficult to completely agree with many prominent preachers.
My yardstick is to find fellowship among the brethren, and defend the gospel message. When they start veering off, I calmly remove myself.
You can’t “pack my stew” when I’m cooking my food myself, at home.

@socialsundayz I get you, but you're also at risk of having the stew packed. There are many known in history that said this, yet they were far from the Lord, christianese is too easy to speak. The method of arriving at a doctrine is far more important than the conclusion.

One of my favourite choices in Nolan's The Odyssey 2026 is how the gods never appear in their true divine forms. Their presence is felt, not seen. Zeus speaks through thunder, Poseidon through relentles waves and unforgiving storms, the divine is always there just beyond human understanding Athena was the goddess, the priestess and odysseus guilt all at once

I think People should have the liberty of choosing the version (protestants) of the bible they like .

When Christ ascended to heaven, God gave everything that made Him God, to Christ.
Because Christ did not ascend alone, but took us with Him, we now have everything that makes God, God- through Christ.
So there’s no valid analogy of God having any ability that we do not have, through our union with Christ.
It may seem humble to take a disposition of lesser authority, but that humility is anti-gospel

God’s desire for salvation is not to have lesser beings looking up to Him for direction. Salvation is God, giving you the fullness of His nature, power and authority, in Christ. So you can function as Him, on earth.
Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
So we’re only leaning on God to the extent that Christ is occupying the position of authority REPRESENTING us. But that occupation renders us the full authority God delegated to Christ when He ascended.
Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Ephesians 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Everything else was great.
But anything that ascribes sin to the believer, does not align with scripture.
We were joined with sin before the cross.
At the cross, sin was split and separated from us.
In the grave, sin was buried forever.
At resurrection, we came out, fully new, and spotless.
Psalm 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Romans 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The part I really assent to is that the believer has been separated ONCE AND FOR ALL from sin. This old sinful body has lost its attachment from us.
Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Our desire to entertain sin, is tied mostly around how clearly we see ourselves:
I am THE NEW MAN, fully righteous and truly holy. I am seated where all grace and righteousness flows from. I do not fall short of God’s standard, because in Christ, I meet it.
As for the old man, anytime he rears his head in my members, I will remind him that He is dead and buried in the grave, and his claim to me is a lie.
The recommendations for our battle with sin has never been to take ownership for it, or acknowledge its validity, however glaring.
Romans 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
It has always been to remind ourselves we have been fully separated from it. That’s how we subdue the flesh

The work of grace through Christ was to reconcile us back unto God in paying the full penalty for sin and then giving God the grounds to justify humanity and recreate man in Christ Jesus positionally sitted with him. The work of grace through the Holy Spirit in you today is to produce the life of God in your mortal flesh today. To make the Christian the exact visible representation of Christ today not just legally but also a tangible reality being daily worked from within. Grace was the might of God at work in Christ to live sinless and thereby be an acceptable sacrifice for the disobedience of Adam. The same grace is now at work in us, it is the might of God producing in you the living reality of all that you are in Christ. Grace and sin have never mixed neither has it ever entertained sin to be acceptable. Where a man sins and falls short of God's standard it shows an absence of grace. That person needs to come up to the throne of grace and recieve grace to help rather than rely on his or her will combined with human effort but rather the will combined with the work of the Spirit of grace within.

I get your drift, but it could be better expressed.
The Bible teaches that we have been remade in true holiness as such “a holy person” cannot be described as being in sin, or called “a sinful person”.
The believer has been torn away from the body of sin.
I’d wait for the substack.

@socialsundayz “It is not the avoidance of sin that gives us divine holiness.” Precisely, so sin has nothing to do with whether you’re holy or not. A sinful person can be holy is a correct inference from that, and it wasn’t at the Island service.
