also another first on my first leg of the trip you can pay for first class, pick your seat, check in, and all that and then just get booted to comfort+ because they want to give the seat to some boomer, presumably with higher medallion status, and you have to deal with either a clanker or phone customer service to get the fare diff credited - it's not automatic
