@MallowTheQueen it’s easy to do actually all you would have to do is have an opening cut scene where you introduce a brand new big bed and have them win then fast forward 500 years etc. etc. there are far more details I could give but Twitter doesn’t have big enough space to type it all

If we ever get Destiny 3, I'm kinda worried how exactly it'll be able to pick up the story. With such a large gap between D2 and D3, the main focus would need to be appealing to new player. Which is difficult given how broken D2's overall story already is, and where it ended.

@MarathonGG_ i just cant find it interesting to play a game that has no story based narrative and is an extraction shooter which (extrwction shooters have the most boring gameplay loop and feel the least rewarding for your time and effort)

@charcoal150 bc when “its best moments” were happening, marathon only had a smaller group of devs working on it. but during lightfall they moved a ton of devs over to marathon and cut what would have been better story and content to save $$ for marathon. they took even more after final shape

"Bungie killed Destiny for Marathon" has never made sense to me because some of the game's best periods occurred when Marathon was in active development. That argument only works if you're specifically talking about Crucible.

@RyGilliam clearly coming from someone who only looks at steam charts to judge a game. u do realize that steam made up only about 15-20% of d2 players right? that puts their numbers around the 100k mark. where as marathon is made up of 70% steam players. make d3 and keep it away from steam

If you want the real Destiny cope, here it is: Destiny is tough. It should’ve died multiple times, but it didn’t. This may be the most definitive “end” we’ve had, but it’s hard to believe because of the sheer resilience of this thing It feels like something will come from this

@dillonatm idc if marathon lives or dies but here is just 2 facts. 1: they pulled devs from destiny to make marathon. (they pulled devs from a proven game for a game in a dead genre that even when good doesnt last long) 2: they gave up on a franchise that has more players than the new game

@LoochyTV so u are saying to support a game that u and about 13k other ppl enjoy, even if they hate extraction shooters or the gameplay loop just in hopes that they make a d3? no. i play games i like. bungie can learn they mad a mistake, instead of feeling like it made the right decision

My entire timeline is full of gaming Stockholm Syndrome 🤣 If you guys just support Marathon then MAYBE you’ll get Destiny 3…did you think of that?! I’ll be surprised if Bungie still exists by the end of next year at this rate.
BlameItOnRyen@BlameItOnRyen

Destiny fans might not wanna hear it, but if you really want to see Bungie get a greenlight for Destiny 3 you should maybe support Marathon as opposed to shitting on it and review bombing it.

@3GunsDown @DattosDestiny u realize that most tried marathon out as a bungie title, title but it quickly lost ppl not bc of what they did to d2 but the fact that they didnt like marathon as a game. extraction shooters are a dead genre which has games that do well for a month but r short lived

Yea this 100%. You Wana see D3? People like @DattosDestiny just shitting on the game and refusing to support it in any capacity turns people away, hurts Bungie, and creates zero chance of D3. Have fun sleeping in that bed you made lmao.

@isolatedrook simple. idc if it does well or not, i just font like it. but sony billions on bungie. they will not let one of the worlds largest game companies go away and cut a loss. they will hope to search and find a game that would bring in lots of $$ n d3 has the biggest chance to do it

@ilikewalot thats bs. a massive amount of people would show up. especially if they started development now. it would b 5 years without destiny or anything that is remotely close to it. destiny was a 1 of 1. extraction shooters are a dead genre. short lived games. ppl would come back

@MathRockSucked those arent hourly peaks. those are literally how many ppl we on concurrently (af the same time) and when ur game is 67% steam and its only about 9 k then by that logic u are about at 12-13k across all platforms at that time. if u look to the right u can see the all time high

@GameOverThirty did u expect the player base to keep playing when they had nothi to do? they didnt have anything to do bc bungie put 80-90% of its resources into creating marathon. like every orher extraction shooter is not a long term investment. more$$ would have meant more content

I get the sentiment around #Destiny2. It was a game that impacted a lot of people, in one way or another. I played it off and on. I enjoyed it, for the most part (there are many components of D2 I did not enjoy). However, the reason that content support is ending is due to the fact that most people stopped playing it. Even when Bungie released new content, people logged in for a month to check it out and then exited again. Don't get me wrong, the video market is saturated with a plethora of options. I haven't touched Destiny 2 in years. I have no time for it. But let's not pretend that this is some massive miscalculation on Sony's part. You aren't playing the game. That's why content support is ending. This is exactly how the free market works. You get what you pay for, or in this case, what you don't pay for. What did you expect to happen?

@GriffPlays u mean 12k players bc steam makes up about 70+% of marathon players and steam shows 9k. d2 with nothing new just had 15k on steam and steam only makes up about 15-20% of d2 players lmao

@kambyyy love how ur showing those numbers but dont want to show marathons numbers. which is 9k on steam. problem is the 70% of marathon players are on steam and less than about 15-20% of D2 players are on steam and its at 15k.

@bocchiyuri no its really not. its very unlikely that after spending 3.6 billion to aquire bungie that they would just eat it as a loss. bungie as a name still has value and destiny as an ip still has massive value. it would b more likely that sony would fire devs and install who they want
