@Jxwhannes Because Inuit whale hunting is a demonstration of how it's entirely possible to hunt in a way that is neither excessive or unsustainable. They did it for an impossibly long time and the whale populations remained stable (until commercial whaling arrived).

@Dblack_Rabbit Alot of vegans avoid cashew based products because of ethical concerns (and most of the people that avoid cashews are vegans because they are more likely to care than a carnist ever would) but I don't think that's what OP was concerned about so it's irrelevant

@solluxanders So like Vegan Cheese that use cashews is really bad for the workers, and vegan cheese doesn't exist as like a cheese for the masses as much as a thing for vegan as a product to replace a comfort at the cost of indirect harm.

@solluxanders I will point out that if the thing you are buying is like "vegan [other food]" as a replacement, it probably doesn't fall under the vegan industry and probably are also very bad

@misanthropy86 The local farm thing always cracks me the fuck up because literally even the cruel inhumane farms on earth could be someone's local farm. Animal farming is inherently exploitative and unethical 😭
