I just had a good call with President Trump. Canada is implementing our $1.3 billion border plan — reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology and personnel, enhanced coordination with our American partners, and increased resources to stop the flow of fentanyl. Nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border.   In addition, Canada is making new commitments to appoint a Fentanyl Czar, we will list cartels as terrorists, ensure 24/7 eyes on the border, launch a Canada- U.S. Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering. I have also signed a new intelligence directive on organized crime and fentanyl and we will be backing it with $200 million.   Proposed tariffs will be paused for at least 30 days while we work together.

India observations A few quick observations from my trip to India last week: - 25% of all AI-related Github commits come from India, 12% of active blockchain devs are based in India - developer talent is incredibly deep and getting even deeper - AI is huge threat + opportunity for India - threat for all the outsourcing/services businesses (eg Infosys), opportunity to lean aggressively and early into a platform shift - start-up culture is rapidly evolving - founders hungry to understand best practices and how to sell internationally, pay it forward attitude is starting to emerge - opportunity for climate tech coming out of India is large - government, incumbents and start-ups all leaning in aggressively plus general awareness of climate change is increasing - infrastructure in India is very impressive - took 4 domestic flights w/o any delay, Uber/Ola work even outside core city areas, UPI enables digital payments literally everywhere (P2P, every street vendor) The next two decades might be 🇮🇳 decades - watch this country!
