End-of-semester lunch with PhD students

Our project on AI for protein, molecule, and biomedical modeling has been awarded 200,000 compute credits from NSF ACCESS. This will accelerate large-scale model training at HySonLab and complements HPC resources like Cheaha (UAB) and the Alabama Supercomputer Authority.

A wonderful moment at the Alabama AI Summit today with my two PhD students together with Prof. Yuliang Zheng, Chair of the Department of Computer Science at UAB, and Prof. Amber Wagner. I am grateful to be part of a vibrant AI community at UAB and in Alabama.

Honored to officially join Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio) as an Editor. Scientific Reports is a Q1 journal with a 2024 impact factor of 3.9 and is currently the 3rd most-cited journal in the world.

Happy to share that i have joined @GoogleAI @GoogleLabs as a scientist to build the next-generation coding agents. The next-generation coding agent should be the one that can autonomously do tasks without supervision, self-improving, and can be seen as a stepping stone towards SuperIntelligence. My approach stays the same: fast iteration between research ideas and user-facing products. Build it, ship it, learn from real users, and innovate from there. Believe this is the only way to thrive in the AI race and @GoogleLabs could be the right place to do this.

One of the final works from my PhD thesis has been accepted at Machine Learning: Science and Technology (Q1, IF = 4.6). Grateful to my PhD advisor Prof. Risi Kondor for his guidance. Glad to publish once again with #UChicago affiliation nearly 4 years after graduation.

Pleased to share that a paper from HySonLab has been accepted to Communications Chemistry, a prestigious journal of Nature. We propose generative AI combined with evolutionary algorithms for multi-target drug discovery, improving synthesizability.

800 problems accepted on LeetCode. Consistent training will keep our mind sharp.

After 2 months of training again to prepare for the Alabama High School Programming Contest and to lead Team UAB to compete in the ICPC North America Regional, I have just reached 500 solved LeetCode problems. Keep pushing forward!
