Got @soor_app for Mac to a workable state. There’s so much broken in Apple’s MediaPlayer API on macOS that adding workarounds for every aspect of playback was needed. But worth it as a native catalyst app feels very fluid. DM me if you’d like to test out an early trial version.

@thejoedelia Yes they do. All stats and playback history get synced with the stock Music app.

@DiosTune Can you try removing the playlist from favourites and then adding it again. Sometimes the local identifiers used to identify the playlist could change causing it to be not found. I’ll look into this.

@tanmays Here’s a bit more. Not sure why. I’m on iOS 16.1. And it’s been like that for a while. Usually some of them load.

Supports Dynamic Island too. You can like the current song or add it to library right from the dynamic island without needing to open the app.

Soor (@soor_app) now comes with live insights. Live insights makes use of the live activities API in iOS 16.1 to show you real-time insights about the currently playing track, right on your lock screen. Check the embedded video to see it in action.

Most music players have an audio source button but what if that button also shows current volume & allow you to adjust it with a gesture? Built this little interactive control in @soor_app that behaves like a regular button for AirPlay options but also acts as an volume control.

iOS 16 also enables the ability to display the audio variant. It’s shown both in iOS app and on the Now Playing tab in CarPlay app.

Lock Screen Widgets are now available in Soor. Quickly access your favourite music right from the lock screen.

@UQE_Digiana Update to the latest v2.8.1 and it should be back. There was a crash related to that button which was fixed in the latest update.

To be honest, the lyrics are always displayed in the player, so if you ask me if there is much need for them... there isn't. I think that would have made it look a lot better. ...well, I use it occasionally.

@soor_app Excuse me, the lyrics icon that was in the lower left corner is gone... Is this a specification? Is it a bug?

@soor_app Loving the Carplay update, it's absolutely fantastic. Could you add an "add to playlist" button to the now playing screen? I recognise you're limited to functions by Apple for safety reasons. My idea is that this button adds to a predefined playlist.

@soor_app I'm looking for an alternative Apple Music and app Soor looks perfect, but does it have Carplay? This is the main location I use Apple Music

@scott_ivell Go to the Songs/Albums view and tap the filter icon. You’ll see a downloaded only option below. You can even add a downloaded only filter option to any magic mix.

@soor_app just purchased. How do I just show downloaded tracks when offline? Like @marvis_music does

@yjsoon Sorry for the late reply. I’m aware of the last fm crash issue. It’s been a long standing issue and I’ve not figured it out yet as it’s very difficult to replicate. (Bug is in song metadata comparison logic) I’m going to try and re-write the component when I get some time.

@soor_app App started crashing today with Last.fm scrobbling enabled. Anything I can do other than reinstalling without enabling scrobbling?

@mpt45 I started work on it but there were too many bugs in the Catalyst APIs for music playback. I’m still figuring out ways to make them stable. I have reported them to Apple, lets see if they fix them soon.

@soor_app any chance in Soor being ported over to macOS via Mac catalyst? :)
