Moonraker (1979) goes completely off the rails and that’s the appeal. Roger Moore leaning into the absurd, a lineup of memorable villains, glossy visuals, and set pieces that just want to entertain. It’s Bond at his most ridiculous and it works.

@moviesinfocus It’s a great film and he’s superb in it but in 2026 are we still entertaining the idea that Moore was anything other than a very capable screen actor hence his longevity as a major star across not one but two mediums?

The Man Who Haunted Himself sees Roger Moore push his acting to the limit. It’s a great role for anyone, but important for Moore - it shows there’s more (Moore?) to him than raising an eyebrow. He inhabits both facets of the role, giving a measured & assured performance. Great.
