You heard right — soundtrack.io is making a comeback, this time without any centralized servers or reliance on trusted third parties. UNCENSORABLE MUSIC IS COMING SOON! Premium Streams will be denominated in #bitcoin, w/ exclusive sets giving funds directly to artists.

As an aside, we've limited our stream to 512 kbps for those of you in remote locations! Focus is on audio quality, so please chime in with reports on the experience!

@hunterwalk @gregisenberg Without becoming a label or clearing house for intellectual property (which we don't really believe exists), we didn't find a business model that warranted a standalone investment. However, it turns out that abstractions are key; we found something much more useful to the world.

It appears that @Google has decided we're in violation of their API policies, blocking access to the @YouTube API we've relied on to search for suitable audio sources for user-selected tracks. We'll submit an appeal, but this accelerates our timeline to @decentralizeALL. #fabric

We're pretty upset with @ChromiumDev already, even to the point of adding special instructions to our site for basic functionality. @YouTube must be driving these changes, as they already restrict off-site playback to maximize as revenue.
