"Knees or trees, either way you're still lynchin' me..." Powerful all the way through. Thank you @AfricanaCarr. Thank you @NickCannon. I'm listening, humbly.
Greg Carr@AfricanaCarr

Our Brother @NickCannon just returned from Minneapolis-St. Paul, where he was in the street, shoulder to shoulder with the people. His reflection here places this moment in it's necessary context: youtu.be/8BXwd_rald8 #GeorgeFloydProtests #JailbreakTheBlackUniversity

@johnrich I was in a plane today, and I was wearing a mask when not disruptive (to sipping, etc) - didn't bother me a bit. People around me were coughing and sniffling, and I don't need to come down to something when I have meetings to attend and can protect my own health.

Am I the only one starting to see people wearing masks? Saw two yesterday...I will not play that stupid game again.

@mbiojournal @andrewpekosz Yes, but not always - the landscape is more complicated when (e.g.) data come from medical records where research consent has been waived by an IRB. There, person-level data sharing might not be allowed and summary measures may be used to protect confidentiality.

Showing the data is the first rule of figures. So it's good news that biologists increasingly show the data in their figures--but there is still room for improvement. doi.org/10.1128/mbio.0… #mBio

Amazing how many #AndesVirus experts appeared overnight — many likely had never heard of it a week ago. Outbreaks are humbling. It’s important to be honest about what we know, what we don’t know, and to remain humble. Working in outbreaks has taught me that repeatedly.

I've had a lot of questions about Hantavirus recently - and some alarmism in some places. It's been a while since I wore this hat - but let's chat! 💬 Top Line: Am I worried? No, not really. I don't see evidence this is something that will spread widely. 1/N

The problem with some of our best ideas in infectious diseases? They’re also the most frustrating. Six love-hates in ID (and bonus @IDSAInfo podcast). Link in reply ...

Me: I had PFTs today, and my FEV1 was 5.5 L (119% of predicted), my FEF25-75 was 5.7 L/s (184% pred). Daughter (resident physician): so you're officially a blowhard? Me: . . .

For-profit companies want you to send them your poop. For a fee, you’ll get a “bespoke” report and suggestions for how to fix your microbiome. Here’s why this burgeoning market is right now not worth s—t. @NEJM voices.nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…

@MichaelJHarrop1 @PaulSaxMD @NEJM Just point to one of those studies that clearly shows convincing evidence that a human phenotype outside the gut is meaningfully changed by FMT. I'm not denying the potential, nor that I lack deficits, I'm just asking you to point to specific evidence.

@soupvector @PaulSaxMD @NEJM "I have yet to see convincing report that a fecal transplant has resulted in cure or cause of diabetes, change in mental health, or any of the other phenotypes attributed to the gut microbiome" is your deficit. So I linked you to that evidence.

@MichaelJHarrop1 @PaulSaxMD @NEJM I'm not sure you read what I wrote. The potential is very exciting, and there's much to learn. What, specifically, is my deficit?
