@The_Keither More and more I'm trying to consider the show's website and RSS the official source for updates anyway. Glad you've got a convenient source of notifications, I know it's a hassle!

The site is recovering from some hardware failure over the weekend, but in the meantime... Podcast 515 is here with @spaceaboveus to chat about all things space in the Dragon Ball universe! It's a great one, so tune in today! 🔗🔊👂👇 kanzenshuu.com/2024/11/11/pod…

Great quote from Expedition 1 commander Bill Shepherd: "I think it’s critically important that we have a space program if only to fulfill this need for a technical society to face challenges, surmount them, and move on."

@cbspock Yeah when I started the show my pitch was basically "Everyone knows Apollo 11 and the Challenger accident. But what about Gemini IX-A? Or STS-49? Those are great stories too! There's no such thing as a boring spaceflight!"

@SpaceAboveUs I started with Shuttle so I can go further back and go through the beginning. I grew up with Shuttle and it’s nice to see a podcast go through the program and its accomplishments, and not let Challenger and Columbia define it.

@psicorps2000 Excellent, welcome! Sorry you won't benefit from this until the Shuttle era but be sure to take a look at the show's website for extra details on missions. I didn't start doing show notes until a year or two ago so I've been working through the backlog. thespaceabove.us

@MementoMoriMike Maybe this is crazy, but I'm holding out hope that a) this class is unusually time-intensive and b) it helps me rebuild my ability to crunch some work in. In which case next semester maybe I can get that schedule a little more on track!

@Astro_Cady @NASA It was a chain of circumstances, not one error, that caused mission failure. Oversimplification does not help those who strive to prevent accidents in the future. Explore the rich and full context of an accident if you want to learn from it. Otherwise you will repeat it
