We’re getting closer to the next Starship launch! Seems like there won’t be another static fire nor a wet dress rehearsal! But now I’m hoping we get a decent amount of time for a heads up before the next launch (like a week or two instead of a day or two 🤞)

@DrPhiltill @ellieinspace I doubt that Starship is delayed more than the other elements of Arty 3

A question that came up on the stream by @ellieinspace yesterday. If Starship must be delayed, then how can the Artemis III mission be rescoped?

@FREESPEECH1017 @kendrome @ESGhound Take a look at the original MOU/EIS for Starbase operations in 2014. That should tell you everything you need to know.

He thinks that "The Press" failing to discuss the permitless spilling of a hot cup of coffee on some "mud flats" in Boca Chica. Which, according to him, is Industrial Waste Water is a cover-up. The truth is, he personally doesn't like Musk or his "political viewpoints, Twitter takeover, etc" and he allows this "personal vendetta" to contaminate what is left of his "professional credibility". Only his professional credibility crumbles in the process, as we sit back and watch whilst enjoying some popcorn. @TMFAssociates also used to engage in this activity with "The Weird Permit Guy" in a "tag-team" format. After making a "fool of himself" with his personal Anti-Musk narrative polluting his "professional credibility" it appears that @TMFAssociates has "wisely" decided to back off from this self-imploding format with "The Weird Permit Guy".

Damn that's crazy I wonder what it would be like if almost the entire US space press refused to talk about some topics for fear of losing access to the handful of billionaires who ran everything... good thing that's not a problem at all

The European Space Agency's lack of transparency with regard to the Ariane 6 rocket's development and testing is completely unacceptable. This is a publicly funded project. arstechnica.com/space/2023/08/…

@DrPhiltill Cameras might not be necessary for the science, but important for the cultural relevance and proxy overview experience.

Good Q. There’s a lot of effort to get data from upcoming lunar missions but I don’t know if anyone is thinking about cameras on lunar Starship. Tbh, I don’t think we need cameras so much as lasers and millimeter wave radar. Need active sensors to penetrate the denser cloud. 1/2

@DrPhiltill Wow, the downsides of tremendous thrust. Any discussion around Starship Landing demo being ringed with downward facing cameras of sufficient resolution to send back detailed 360 views of the landing plume? Deployable rover to survey the site and record lift off?
