What is your most annoying movie/TV cliche? Mine is when a character finds car keys tucked under a windshield visor. Who sticks their keys there? And why does this insanity persist?? What’s your most annoying cliche or trope?

@phantascene Sad as it seems, I'm reminded of the days when you had to hire someone to walk in front of your car waving red flags, in order to protect all kinds of industries and workers from being rendered obsolete.

Genuine question for those who oppose Generative AI... will you ever hire anyone to do artwork or write? I ask because I have been thinking, how can you ever be sure that those you hire are not using the very processes you speak out against? What stops ghost writers using AI?

@phantascene If I hired someone now there'd be no way of knowing. Take my book covers, I use stock art I've paid for, as well as blender models I designed myself. I chop up bits and pieces and mash them all together in Affinity. But going forward how do I know the stock art isn't AI gen?

@phantascene I grew up in a house that looked pretty much like that pub. Even the roof looked the same.

Such a lovely architectural design, it is what I decided long ago to use for the crown city of my novels. I was inspired many years ago by a small town in Washington State, nestled in the Cascades between Seattle and Wenatchee. The town of Leavenworth, Washington looks like driving into a rustic old Bavarian village, or at least that was the look the last time I was there. We used to stop in for vanilla ice cream, some of the best I've ever had, churned in the small cafe there and made using real vanilla beans.

@Stephen10810 @EliteDangerous The Clipper is large and had the same pricing as the previous smaller ships. They don't price them on size but rather the setup and extra cosmetics they include.
