@sharrond62 I thought I was on par, cup of tea, checking X while listening to some laid back jazz (Matthew Halsall - Fletcher Moss Park) but you have me trumped (and envious) with the cinnamon buns!
English

@sharrond62 I wish I was surprised but considering the number of deviant males associated with that institution during our lifetime it's difficult to believe it's anything other than male centric.

Please listen. Maeve is spot on & in this ever shallower virtue signalling world, you may think letting gay kids ruin their bodies & any chance of a healthy future is kindness (it is not, it’s cowardice, protecting them is) or ruining young girls sporting dreams, by allowing boys to unfairly steal their accolades, is kindness (it’s not, its un factual & un scientific) or allowing male sexual predators to share cells with vulnerable female inmates… is kindness (it most definitely is not, it torture). Just check your logic. Stop Being a Handmaiden or a coward & be more Maeve.

"No, I don't subscribe to this 'kindness' - I'll tell the truth instead." I spoke at the Cambridge Union last night about LGBs, children's safety and women's rights. Full video here:

@Jenny_1884 It is very difficult to see the activities of the Labour party, including the PM, as anything other than intentionally anti-British. I've lost count of the number of times I've asked myself if they are openly inciting revolt in the country they govern.

This post clearly shows why so many of us would be happy to see @MaggieOliveruk in a position of public authority and also why so many of us should easily understand why that won't happen. A person with this kind of integrity and morality is exactly what is missing from our government at the moment but nobody achieves this without knowing their strengths and playing to them. When Maggie Oliver lays out her future plan I'd assume that's where her strengths are needed.

In recent months I’ve chosen to stay out of all the “noise” of X and the cross party political horrors we are witnessing as our country descends into chaos after years of neglect.
And I have been approached by many media outlets today to ask if I am going to stand against @AndyBurnhamGM in the Makerfield by election. I’ve declined all interviews up to now.
But I just wanted to say here that whilst I’m hugely flattered that the public consider me as worthy of their trust in such a huge moment, and many have messaged me asking me to throw my hat in the ring, I feel I can do more good from the place I am.
The work fighting for victims and survivors of “rape gangs”, all survivors of any kind of sexual violence still being hugely failed by our police/courts/cps, and to continue to use my voice to expose the cover ups and corruption in our institutions that has consumed my life for 13 years isn’t finished yet. And I don’t quit until it’s won! I know my subject inside out! And I know what’s needed….
My charity @TMOFCharity and I are currently fighting this government in a Judicial Review, a “David and Goliath” fight as I said in March. We are also fighting alongside many dozens of survivors as we try to ensure they have an effective voice in this so called new “statutory enquiry” - which in all honesty is shaping up to be exactly like the one that fell apart last year when survivors including @fionagoddarduk @EllieAnnRe71927 @snatched1400 and others resigned in disgust at the secrecy and “game playing” they saw from @jessphillips and others in government.
3 months after we took over two dozen survivors to meet @annelongfield and her team in Manchester we’re still to receive any update, response or even the most basic communication about the direction of travel of this new “Statutory enquiry”and again we’re hearing on the grapevine of more “secret squirrel meetings”, NDAs, lack of openness and transparency etc etc
So my work here is not yet done, and I intend to see this through until I can rest knowing change is coming.
But thankyou for your trust in me. Which in all honesty means the world 💕

@elonmusk Unfortunately empathy is often seen by bad actors as a sign of weakness and they will take advantage. When exercising empathy one must always be ready for the wolf to appear.
English

Beware the empathy exploit.
Empathy is good and right when thought through (deep), but can be deadly to civilization when simply stimulus-response (shallow).
For example, releasing a repeat violent offender may feel good at first (shallow empathy for the criminal), but it is wrong to do so when that person will go on to hurt or murder innocent victims, as there should be deep empathy for future victims.

@DiedSuddenly_ Is it really a "win" when people have to be incentivized to do the right thing?
English

@JamesMelville Frightening, true and sad! Until governments around the world can be populated by independent and morally upstanding people this is unlikely to change.
English

This would appear as a chink of light (dim though it may be) in the darkness of the current Labour Party chaos. I know nothing of Mr. Carns other than if he served with the Marines I know he will intimately familiar with the concepts of national pride, integrity and service to the nation. That alone elevates him to the top of any candidate list for next Labour leader.

@AgentP22 I'd like to know when he's going to rescue Scotland from the brink or step his party down and let a competent party take the helm.
English

@AgentP22 SNP are so deeply mired in their obsession with destroying the UNITED Kingdom that it's little wonder they have no apparent interest in bettering Scotland for those of us who wish to live here.
English

@Malcolm_Offord Well, that's refreshing! Clearly the Senedd allows adults in the room while the kids in Holyrood lock the adults out.
English

Plaid Cymru is implacably opposed to Reform.
But Rhun ap Iorwerth has shown true leadership in his initial comments as First Minister of Wales, showing respect for the whole country he wishes to serve.
GB Politics@GBPolitcs
🚨NEW: Plaid Cymru First Minister of Wales congratulates Reform on the election win, saying they'll "no doubt be a formidable presence" in the Senedd Adding, "I will always welcome scrutiny."

Surely the only reason for a man staying in a role that he knows he no longer has the skills for (if he ever did) and he knows the public majority want him removed from is being kept in place until the puppet master can find the next most malleable puppet. Replacing the current PM with another "Labour" puppet isn't going to improve things for the country or us.
English

So while the court of Starmer strut around claiming that he has seen off the Labour MP rebellion, the bigger picture still remains the same. The public loathe him. And that’s not going to change. It’s baked in now. He’s putting his desperate fight to stay in power above the best interests of the Labour Party and the best interests of the country.

@ClareCraigPath Excellent discussion as usual. Wouldn't it be fun if teaching science subjects could be done in this format, I learn so much more from these discussions/debates and the questions I'm left with just prompts me to watch/listen/read more on the subject. Thank you.

@buckpad_paula There's a lot of us around! I have a few years on you and also a 1st time political party member. Even back in the "cold war" days our country didn't feel this threatened so, time to choose your corner I say.

@AgentP22 Is it wrong to be happy that I'm repugnant to Mr Flynn?!
English

If this is how the SNP view the 400,000 Reform voters in Scotland ahead of the new parliament opening, can you imagine how "No" voters would be treated if the SNP ever succeeded in winning a referendum?
Cat Brown 🏴🚜🇬🇧🏴🇮🇪@MrsBr0wn_82
Heres the SNP Stephen Flynn describing people who voted for Reform UK in Scotland as having "Repugnant views" Well Stephen Flynn I think you're Repugnant! #ReformUK #UKPolitics #SNP #Farage #Scotland

@JournoMaddie Anyone in the political arena courting controversy in a clearly immoral fashion is only in the public arena for the attention they can garner. Public service is not on their agenda.

I find it really disgusting that someone can move to another country and advocate for making that country’s women prostitutes. Why is a foreign man so keen to see Scottish women stand on the streets and sell their bodies? If this were a British man going to Thailand or Japan and saying these things, eyebrows would be raised.
The only way to protect “sex workers” (we’re talking about prostitutes here, not OF models) is to help them out of this exploitative and violent industry.
