Geometry nodes + new Cloth Dynamics node + custom effectors.
Had to slightly modify the Cloth Dynamics node to achieve more accurate self collisions.

@ThatNgonGuy There are no ngons in the picture. The subdivision modifier turns them into quads.

@specoolar I would like to use your environments to watch Netflix or Youtube. But I noticed that every time I open up a browser window or a menu or anything else on my quest, it opens up like a menu scene with the checkered floor. Can you make that pause menu scene optional in the settings?

I just tried it. As a 3d game dev, I'm impressed by the quality, I dont know what engine was used, but it's beautiful. It shows that we can do nice stuff on Quest, if we want it.

@Pavel_Oliva You can't see it in this video but sometimes you cath the geometry being displaced at the very edge of the screen.

Crimson Desert has this surface shader..
It has a transformative effect on the game visuals and it's seemingly applied to every object in the game.
It doesn't look like tessellation, it appears to have artifacts from a screen-space effect.
I believe they are using the height maps from every PBR material in the game to create some sort of screen space displacement mapping.

@GhwstVR This is just a big terrain. The grass system just adapts to the terrain around the player. With some modifications it can be technically infinite.

I am rendering the distant grasses in two passes. First with alpha clip with depth write, then with alpha blend to smooth out the edges.

Custom grass system. No instancing, no Compute shaders.
Just game objects splitted into chunks with LODs. Displacement in vertex shader. Their geometry is pre-sorted towards the camera to minimize overdraw.
Unity automatically handles culling as they are just game objects.
