1/4 What a milestone to recognise for our trombone player, Steve Schramm, whose performance last weekend marked a 40 year association with Lydbrook Band. Sadly, Steve has decided to retire from competitive banding and he will be greatly missed by the entire Lydbrook family.

yesterday we hosted a meeting of hospitality providers at which my Co=Director and daughter Naomi,spoke passionately about the issues the industry faces.

Today would have been my father’s 100th birthday. I hope he’s having a tipple up there. He was totally Edwardian in many ways, but a good egg - he taught me independence and how to work things out for myself. I’m grateful for that. Happy heavenly centenary Daddy. X

@Sacha_Lord @AndyBurnhamGM @AngelaRayner May i remind you all that not only Pubs but all SME's in the tourism and leisure industry need help! Our small family owned hotel has to find over £110 K to stand still this financal year. We employ and train a lot of young people in our rural area.

This is the biggest single intervention that Hospitality has seen in years. A reduction in VAT. A reduction in Business Rates. It would save businesses, jobs and our High Streets.

After yesterdays astonishing confirmation by the Business Secretary, that the Chancellor wasn't aware of the impact of her tax raid on Hospitality...the pressure is ramped up. The public is behind us on this, as are most major news outlets.

Breaking: I'm told the Treasury are preparing a pubs-specific business-rates u-turn within days... The Chancellor commissioned research on the impact of rates on pubs before Christmas, and is expected to come forward with more support specifically for struggling boozers, as early as next week.
