In the early 2000s, Obama was an Illinois State Senator representing the 13th District. After suffering a heavy defeat in the 2000 Democratic primary, Obama then worked with a Dem redistricting consultant, and helped redraw HIS state senate district. New map was designed to protect Obama's base in Hyde Park while extending the district north along the lakefront into wealthier areas, creating a highly favorable voter pool that combined his African American base with affluent and liberal white voters. This helped solidify his political standing for his future U.S. Senate run. Later, the 2021 maps were noted for being "the most gerrymandered in the country," receiving an "F" grade from non-partisan monitoring groups like the Princeton Gerrymandering Project. Democrats have been using gerrymandering to cheat for years, and loser .@BarackObama cheated to win next time up. See how that works 🙄 share.google/rtlOLIaNgM1nQg…

@RepDeborahRoss What happened to all the money ? They close school more than they keep them open. Schools have failed the students. Private schools do more with less

I turned out for the teachers rally to support Wake County educators. Our teachers are underpaid, overworked, and underappreciated. It's time for North Carolina to invest in our public schools and give our teachers a raise.

The WHCD shooter tripped and fell. That's what stopped him. Not the Secret Service. Not the five shots fired at him that all missed. A trip. He was one flight of stairs from the ballroom where Trump, Vance, and the entire Cabinet were seated. And he was stopped by gravity.

I was just thinking how amazing it is that Trump was impeached twice, indicted 4 times, convicted once - all fake, and had an election stolen from him and STILL he became president a second time winning all 7 swing states!

I am standing in full solidarity with the thousands of NC teachers marching for fair pay and proper school funding. Some facts: - NC is 50th in public school funding - NC is 46th in teacher pay - Wake County faces $16M in cuts this year Today, our educators are putting everything on the line to ensure every student gets the resources they deserve.

The teachers rally in Raleigh may have been the most attended single-day rally in North Carolina history. Educators from around the state used the event to call out lawmakers over funding concerns, and to call on one other. Story: wbtv.com/2026/05/01/loo…

I appreciate the sentiment, but teachers have to be honest to gain the respect of the general public... I've fed my family of four (now inc. a bonus high schooler) exclusively on a teacher's salary (and side hustles) for 13 years.
Justin Parmenter@JustinParmenter

NC is losing the competition for teachers. Take a look: Avg teacher pay: NC ~$59,971 VA ~$72K GA ~$72.7K SC ~$67.1K TN ~$62.9K NC is getting outbid for its own teachers. This trend won’t end until the numbers change. #nced #redfored

America knew her smile. No one knew what it was hiding. Sally Field was seven years old when her childhood ended. The year was 1952. Her mother had just remarried a man named Jock Mahoney—a Hollywood stuntman who would later become Tarzan himself. Tall, magnetic, the kind of man who commanded attention when he entered a room. To neighbors and friends, he seemed like the perfect stepfather. Behind closed doors, he was her nightmare. For years, the abuse continued. And what made it unbearable, Field would later write, was that he wasn't simply a monster. He could be enchanting. Playful. He made her feel special even as he destroyed her sense of safety. Her mother never stopped it—whether she didn't see or chose not to look, Sally would never fully know. So the little girl did what children in impossible situations do. She learned to vanish. She became a master at reading moods, softening edges, making herself small enough to survive. At fourteen, she found the courage to make it stop herself. At eighteen, Hollywood made her a star. Gidget. The Flying Nun. America fell in love with the bright, wholesome girl-next-door. But the smile they adored was the same mask she'd been perfecting since childhood. The wholesomeness was real and unreal at once—a survival skill that had finally found a stage. Underneath, she carried a weight she couldn't name. She married young. Divorced. Married again. Divorced again. She spent years in a turbulent relationship with Burt Reynolds, later realizing she was trying to heal a wound that existed long before she met him. When Hollywood tried to keep her in the cute-girl box, she fought her way out. She studied acting seriously. She auditioned through rejection. She pushed toward truth. Then came Norma Rae in 1979. A factory worker who finds her voice. The girl who spent her childhood disappearing became the loudest woman on screen—and won her first Oscar. Five years later, another Oscar for Places in the Heart. Then Steel Magnolias, Mrs. Doubtfire, Forrest Gump. A legendary career. Two Academy Awards. But the secret remained buried. Her stepfather died in 1989, never facing consequences. Her mother grew old. Sally never spoke the words. Until 2012. She was sixty-five, cast as Mary Todd Lincoln in Spielberg's Lincoln. Something inside her finally broke open—something, she said, that had been growing for decades and she could no longer breathe around. She went to her dying mother and told her the truth. Fifty years after it began, she said the words she had swallowed for half a century. Then she picked up a pen and began to write. Not a polished celebrity memoir. A reckoning. In Pieces was published in September 2018, and it shook readers to their core. She wrote about the abuse. About a secret abortion at seventeen in Tijuana. About eating disorders. About bad relationships. About decades of therapy. About the slow, painful work of finding the child she had made invisible. She's in her late seventies now. Famous for sixty years. Two Oscars on a shelf and generations of fans. But ask her what the bravest thing she ever did was, and it won't be any film you remember. It was telling the truth. Walking back into the rooms she survived and naming them aloud. Looking at every broken part of herself and saying: This is me. She wrote: I am in pieces. And in some way, I always have been. But pieces can be put back together. Some people spend their lives running from what was done to them. Sally Field ran for fifty years. Then she stopped, turned around, and walked back toward it—with a pen in her hand. That's not just courage. That's what reclaiming a life looks like.

Harriet Hageman — the fighter who destroyed Trump-hater Liz Cheney — is now running for U.S. Senate in Wyoming! The Senate is full of weak-kneed Republicans who fold under pressure. Harriet would be a massive America First upgrade. Who else thinks we need more patriots like Harriet in the Senate?

🚨BREAKING:🚨INFAMOUS "RUSSIAGATE" LAWYER ANDREW WEISSMAN REPORTEDLY SET TO BE INDICTED - The CROOKED lawyer who served as former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's right-hand man in the now debunked PHONY RUSSIAGATE INVESTIGATION, Andrew Weissman, is reportedly about to join his old pal James Comey as a FEDERAL CRIMINAL DEFENDANT for the role that he played in the YEARS LONG COUP ATTEMPT against President Trump. Weissman is said to be one of the key individuals tied to Russiagate that Comey has been cooperating against with federal authorities in hopes of securing a more favorable deal in his own criminal case, with AN ADDITIONAL INDICTMENT said to be dropping on Comey for his own part in the TREASONOUS CONSPIRACY. Weissman is said to have become one of THE LEADING TARGETS OF THE FEDS related to investigation as a result of the recent death of Mueller, with likely charges expected to include SEDITIOUS CONSPIRACY, CONSPIRACY TO DEFRAUD THE UNITED STATES AND VIOLATIONS OF THE ESPIONAGE ACT related to FISA warrants that were ILLEGALLY OBTAINED UNDER FALSE PRETENSES in order to spy on President Trump and individuals associated with his 2016 campaign. Weissman is FACING DECADES IN FEDERAL PRISON if convicted of any one of this LITANY OF HEINOUS CRIMES against our duly-elected President and us patriots who elected him. Comey really was just THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG. Are YOU ready for Andrew Weissman to FINALLY FACE SWIFT AMERICAN JUSTICE? 📢👊🏻🇺🇸

ANOTHER WIN! Democrats want to SUBVERT the Supreme Court. It can't happen! Time for Louisiana to redraw out ALL of their racial districts that favor Dems AG MURRILL: "The 19th JDC just rejected an attempt by the Marc Elias Law Group to force Louisiana to hold elections under the now-unconstitutional map.
