Multiple emergency departments in Toronto are on the verge of collapse tonight. There are no nurses. They are begging people with no nursing training to act as nurses. Care will be compromised. But they won't declare an official emergency (presumably to save face?)

SEH artsen zijn dé medisch specialisten in de spoedzorg. Het zou Nederland goed staan als we de andere >30 Europese landen volgen die SEH arts als specialist erkennen. Voor huisartsen zijn SEH artsen de belangrijkste partner en specialist in de spoedzorg

Mede ook omdat ook andere specialismen spoedzorg leveren, zou de SEH-arts niet als specialist erkend moeten worden, aldus dit voorgenomen besluit van de RGS. Een nogal ouderwetse kijk op de ziekenhuiszorg, en niet in lijn met veel andere Europese landen knmg.nl/web/opleiding-…

Nederland telt ruim 17 milj SEH-patienten. We zijn allemaal SEH-patient. We weten alleen niet wanneer of waarmee. Jaarlijks zijn 2 miljoen mensen aangewezen op SEH-zorg. Om deze te kunnen verbeteren is wetenschappelijk onderzoek nodig. Ons steunen kan via: sgorun.kentaa.nl
