@StephenSeiler I genuinely try and help editors as let’s be honest it’s a crap job
The issue is to review a paper I need to take that time directly out of my family or exercise time - the paper really needs to be good for me to want to do that
English

@spragg247 The centuries old peer review system is broken, or more correctly, totally outdated and overwhelmed. When you get these requests every single day, the selected response becomes no response.

@DebevecTadej It would be dangerous for experienced climbers let alone the less prepared

It would be extremely dangerous for less experienced and less prepared climbers and trekkers to believe that the use of xenon would allow them to forgo proper physical and medical preparation and acclimatization when going to high mountain regions.

Insightful and worthwhile correspondence regarding xenon use in high altitude mountaineering by prof. Burtscher in @NEJM Xenon — Propelling Climbers to the Summits of the World’s Highest Mountains? nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…

@Captain7bag @Spragg_Perform @peter__leo I talk about durability in terns of ‘acute ´ - ie within a session and ‘chronic’ ie across multiple days or sessions in the talks I give and within my day to day working environment
English

@Spragg_Perform @peter__leo for sports with same day multiple events or matches would durability still play a role in fatigued performance (in the second match or event) or would it be considered recovery?

@spragg247 Adjusting the time limit at the last minute is really nothing new.
English

Unpopular opinion...
This is such a joke.
The time limit has been known for months
If teams cannot plan for this with performance strategies, then they should be at a disadvantage and in danger of their riders going home OTL.

@CrisHake @LoosDieter GC leaders were not faster than predicted; therefore, the goal is to find ways to get your sprinters and heavier riders within the time cut. This was possible with the 33% time cut if you were smart about it
English

@spragg247 @LoosDieter True. However: If the gc leaders are exceptionally fast than predicted this tour that they feared they would lose some sprinters, it makes sense
English

@Nyborger_Nybo Only 7 riders were outside the original time cut of 33% and I imagine those guys went easier than planned as a result of the change

English

@spragg247 well they didn't want the risk of having to kick out 80 riders - putting on perspective how large the gap is from the best to rest
