While Wemby is the best product over the last ten years, I argued that Cooper Flagg is the most well-rounded He’s a king of all trades, with the fluidity of a guard and the ability to score on all 3 levels while also being able to playmake & defend

@CowboyEmpire @pointmadebball Wemby is about to win DPOY (he was also unanimously the best defender last year) in his third season. He’s going to finish higher in MVP voting than Luka this year. We’ve seen a lot of Luka’s story and it isn’t trending well compared to earlier projections.

@sprite3251 @pointmadebball That’s funny because literally Luka is one of the best prospects/tatents ever. Wemby or flag aren’t in the same conversation with Luka 🥱and before you cry do some research about Luka before entering the league and afterwards it’s simply amazing

@AyyyeWoods @RyanLucas_LA Agree with 2. Luka is the decider here. Same way Bron is the decider wit Bronny. Not great for an org to complain about roster construction when the Lakers have two full roster spots players taken up by dead weight.

I think LA needs to seriously consider waiving Bufkin and giving either Nick or Timme that 15th and final roster spot for the playoffs. I'd lean more towards Nick because you have Maxi. With the depleted guard/wing depth right now going into the playoffs you need a guy like this. He may be able to help steal a game or two in the 1st round if he can give you 12 pts on 4/5....

@AyyyeWoods @RyanLucas_LA If you have to play Maxi the series is over. He’s not a NBA player, so you still only have 2 NBA centers on thr roster. Don’t even know that he’s a center, you don’t just become a center after being a power forward bc you get hurt.

@Joskiila @JacksonLloyd Who has argued he was a highly impactful star? Seems like initial misinterpretation was that being top 10 all time points but not a highly impactful star was “disgusting”

@sprite3251 @JacksonLloyd No definitely not. Losing a starting caliber player and replacing him with a below average player is not a winning solution The problem is people look at his PRA and team success and assume he was the primary cause

We are losing the plot when this is how blog boys talk to Hall of Famers. Pretty f*ckin’ lame given DeMar DeRozan’s story coming up + the mental health stuff he’s spoken on. From what I gather, been nothing but gracious with young players, media, fans, etc. To be frank, this would you laughed out the room with coaches and players. Make sure this nonsense stays on Spreadsheet / Useless Acronym Twitter. Basketball is more jazz and abstract art than binary notation. Stats (or data, to put it better) have their place, but there are dozens of variables that will always be imperfectly accounted for. Honestly, it’s funny how simple the explanation for this is: 1. DeRozan’s teams were still good with him on the court in his prime 2. His on-offs are less than stellar because he was staggered with Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors had an elite bench End of rant, good riddance
Carson Breber@Carsobi

I think it's weird that your teams have been better with you off the court for your entire career and you are probably going to end up with more career points than Shaq That's what it means

@OrderSquid38 @RyanLucas_LA He’s not NBA level and will never be again. He’s horrible at this point. Can finish, can’t shoot, can’t guard.

@JacksonLloyd Your stats argument makes no sense. Sure I would agree basketball is abstract, but +/- is simple descriptive analytics. How well is the team performing when you’re on vs when you’re off You can’t simultaneously argue Demar was highly impactful when teams do better without him

@Tim_NBA How long has Budkin been with Lakers squad vs G-League. He’s listed as a SG, is he typically playing from this position on ball? I doubt it. What were are actually seeing is a bench that was an afterthought all year and now they are searching for something with 5 games left.

Do you know what it took to get to this statement? It was weeks and weeks of not holding himself accountable all until everyone started asking when he’d hold himself accountable. Before and after that he hasn’t don’t that and just throws players under the bus. Guess it can sustain when things are going okay - but a bit harder when things fall apart and reasonable minds could point to you (but you point at ever other direction)

No, sounds like they are prob a 6 six that he ran into the ground to win a few extra games. Any coach can run an elite player for 40+ mins game and squeak out wins. Doesn’t make the team better doesn’t make the coach better. It’s just short sighted and injuries are predictable. But when the big decision came in the OKC game. JJ failed. Similar to how badly he failed in the playoffs last year. And surrounding each failure was a barrage of insults to those around him.

I’d love to get the honest reaction of the Lakers medical staff essentially being told they aren’t good enough to rehab a hamstring strain. We have great literature showing good old American made platelet poor and rich plasma injections speed up hamstring recovery and decrease repeat injury Not aware of anything in Europe that would make a literature proven difference
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

After consultation with Lakers doctors and his own medical team, Luka Doncic will seek specialized medical treatment in Europe on his Grade 2 left hamstring in an attempt to expedite his return to play, agent Bill Duffy of WME Basketball tells me and @mcten.

@RedickGotNext @thebenroyer Coach’s job is to put the team in the best position to win a title (not a regular season game they are already down 25/30). Makes sense you’re some JJ fan account.

Lakers coach JJ Redick on Austin Reaves/Luka Doncic playing 2nd half vs OKC: “As a coach, you go on the information you have. (Luka) was medically cleared. When Austin came back, I asked directly, ‘I thought he was hurt.’ (I was told): ‘No, he's medically cleared.’”

@RedickGotNext @thebenroyer As a leader you own the decisions, you get their rationale if you think someone’s hurt and get to the bottom of what they mean by “cleared.” Ultimately it’s your decision to play them, and clearance is just one factor in combination with time/score importance of the game etc.
