One Good Friday image I find very powerful is this 15th century (?) sculpture of Christ after He was taken down from the Cross. It was discovered on the site of the old chapel at the Worshipful Company of Mercers in London during building work in 1954.

I find it genuinely perplexing how Starmer became PM. He doesn’t seem to have any real aptitude for any of the things politics involves. He is a robotic speaker, not a deep policy thinker, no natural political antenna. And he clearly hates every minute of being cross examined even in a very civilised manner - isn’t that meant to be bread and butter for a former barrister?!
