For me the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi on a long-term deal would completely crush the tiny bit of hope I’m clinging on to as a Spurs fan. That hope is for Pochettino’s return in the summer. I would have much rather stuck with Igor Tudor, than give De Zerbi a long-term deal. Anyone agree?

After fans coming together for the Nottingham Forest game, it is a shame to see the fanbase more divided than ever due to strong links to Roberto De Zerbi. On and off the pitch, unity and togetherness are needed; we have seen anything but that with fans this week. Sad to see.

If Spurs are offering De Zerbi a 5 year contract, there’s clearly reassurances he stays if we get relegated. No way in a million years are we risking paying him off if we go down. I reckon if we go down, he does similar to what Rafa Benitez did at Newcastle in the championship

I've not even wanted to talk about the footballing reasons why Roberto De Zerbi is a stupid appointment for Tottenham, because honestly it pales in significance to the other reasons as far as I'm concerned. But a 5-year contract to make him one of the biggest earners in the PL is beyond idiotic. He doesn't want to be here right now, which has been made clear. If he's coming now, he's doing it for the money - and I would expect that there's a get-out clause and payment for him if we get relegated (because I don't see why else he would take this job). He falls out with boards and he falls out with players. He's an unpredictable manager that offers nothing but chaos in a time where we need nothing but stability. And going this direction, in terms of tactics and character, shows the complete lack of identity and plan from the top of this club. Vinai Venkatesham & Johan Lange. This club's blood is firmly on your hands.

De Zerbi has only lasted more than 91 games at a club once... Half of his club roles have lasted 30 games or less... He didn't hit the 2 year mark at Brighton or Marseille... And Spurs want to offer him a 5 year deal with 7 games to prevent disaster? It's just not necessary!
