@WhitneyGrenaway You’re retracting your shoulders, which is good. But if you consistently feel it between your shoulder blades, you’re probably actively pulling them together as you press. That keeps your traps and rhomboids under constant tension, which is likely why you feel it there.

Walking does not automatically burn fat. If that were true, every Amazon driver on Earth would have abs. Walking increases energy expenditure. That’s it. You can walk all day and still be overweight if you’re not in a deficit. “Perfect diet” and “keto” don’t mean calorie appropriate. You can overeat steak, almonds, and olive oil just as easily as pizza. You also don’t get to choose where you store fat. Fat distribution is largely genetic and for most people, the belly is the last place it leaves.

@anymanfitness You people with your absolutes kill me. Research shows that walking 60 minutes burns both subcutaneous fat and visceral fat. I know people who eat perfect diets, some even on keto and although they're thin everywhere else, they have guts caused by visceral fat.

Working out is for improving your performance and increasing your muscle mass. Nutrition is for fat loss. There's no "fat loss workouts", exercises, or specific time frame for workouts that leads to fat loss - because it's done with your DIET, not what you do in the gym.

Agree on the sacrifices part. It’s not as “cheap” as some make it out to be, but it’s not inherently more expensive either. It’s relative. People don’t blink at $7 coffee and $3 energy drinks daily, or $15–20 in takeout. But suddenly $10–15 for actual food with solid protein is “expensive.” Usually, the argument isn't actually about cost. It’s about priorities and convenience.

@spyguy2529 600cal isn’t a day of eating though. It’s barely a 3rd of it. $10-15 on JUST good protein levels is absurd when you haven’t even covered the other 1400 calories you also need yet either. I eat high protein but people shouldn’t gaslight it’s necessarily cheap. Sacrifices come

@Kalimain2 @anymanfitness Okay but even then $3650 a year for JUST your protein intake and nothing else, which 150g = only 600 cal and nowhere near enough to last you a year, is exactly why people are saying food prices are ridiculous. That these are the “deal” prices aren’t it at this point

I originally thought that a lot of these types of posts were just rage-bait or engagement farming, but the more time I spend on social media & see the same kinds of posts from people, it's clear that a majority of people really just don't have a clue about nutrition or how to actually eat.

Depends. Does he have any debt, a mortgage, any savings / investments? What's his plan after the 3 year lease ends? Could probably find better ways to spend $800 / month, (or a fraction of that), but if he likes trucks and is making a lifestyle choice, then there's nothing wrong with it.

@DeanTTraining Love EVOO, Coconut oil and peanut butter, just can't really "afford" them when cutting. Very easy calorie enhancers though when I'm at maint or wanting a small surplus without changing too much else in my diet.
