AI is amazing. It is going to allow me to finish this 20 year old project. I want to show you two things.
One I posted earlier, but let me post it again. This video is 20 years old. We ran out of money. Conflict between myself and the director, and a whole bunch of other problems led to this falling apart. Here, Omega Zero fights Bill, who you will meet in issue # 0 and yes this is a spoiler.
But now Dilemma of the Seraph. An AI assisted project that is a part of the same story.

As a creative, why the hell should I hold myself back from telling my story if technology has advanced to where I can? How does it make moral and ethical sense to tell someone who was clinging to the ashes of a dream that he can’t have that dream because some Progressive Luddite’s fee fees got hurt somehow?
I’m telling my story. You all can’t stop me.

@IronTiger44 Plus, you can say, "I made and released a movie". Which is just cool. It also lets you ignore the pathway, haha
English

@IronTiger44 Finishing it removes it from the mind and exists as an accomplishment.
English

@sqa1999 You know if I can finish it now, even if I never make that $$ back, I can at least say I finished it.
English

@sqa1999 Yup!! Cost me a quarter of a million and a bankruptcy.
English

@9mmJew @kabrutusdeid Can't you basically get there without basically any inputs? The Refund rate must be high.
English

@OkamiraVT It doesn't remove the creativity, it shifts the workload. Though the core argument is about the "artist" Personality type and how everyone hates the Narcissism. That's the actual cultural-level argument.
English

@KuroMochiSushi @AI_EmeraldApple It's not even a 90s soundtrack. Most of it would be obscure 80s music in the late 90s.
English

@AI_EmeraldApple This is probably supposed to appeal to millennials but as a millennial, I hate it. I'm an hour in and this and none of this writing is anywhere near a 10/10. If I saw a movie in the 90s like this, I'd cry and ask my mom if we could leave.
English

This is why I said even if Mixtape was a movie, I'd rate it a 3/10. The dialogue and the writing are terrible, filled with so many cringe moments that make your skin crawl just listening to it.
For so many in the mainstream, this dumpster fire of a dialogue gets 10/10 because too many people have never been confronted with real problems with actual consequences, so this absolutely unrealistic rant by the cop's daughter gets endless applause.
It just shows how unserious so many in the MSM are.
Not Theo@NotTheo_Ch
this 'game' is so fucking ass lmao
English

@thedragonstea I have a couple of guesses what you're thinking about, but I'd be worried about Heat Stability.
English

>spend an hour researching a brand new product line that would blow people's minds (if I made it work)
>see that main ingredient is considered safe if taken in normal doses
>find out main ingredient isn't approved by the FDA aside from prescriptions for Alzheimers
I JUST WANT TO BREAK NEW GROUND IN MY FIELD IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!

@twangler_the @Sir_Dammed Mixtape might be the best Game Proposal ever. It was basically targeted right at Megan Ellison and no one else. I'm sure she loved it.
English

Twangler@twangler_the
@NotAzehara There was zero passion involved in the creation of Mixtape. It screams of being given a year to develop without adequate leadership/supervision and they piddled around until deadline loomed, then panic fed it to AI while a couple weirdos obsessed over tongue/saliva physics.
QME

Game journalist and those who agree with them are the most gullible ass consoomers in the entire market. Not only is Mixtape not a masterpiece, but it's fucking lazy and almost certainly used AI:
- Game has a random house dead in the middle of a public street, with a 2-way garage that you skate through.
- The cassette (mix) tape that the very game is based around has weird little inconsistencies that makes it seem like it wasn't designed by a human, such as missing film, 7 spokes instead of 6, being upside down, etc.
- The headphones the main character uses are the third result in a Google search for "90s headphones." Literally identical.
- Mostly speculation, but people have noticed stark, peculiar similarities between the games dialogue/prose style and ChatGPT.
Also: by adding things like fail states, or fleshing out the mild parkour mechanics the game has and giving players even the most moderate of challenges... where a mistake could cause them to arrive at their destination too late and trigger a different ending... or hell, even through the use of simple yet clever mechanics... the game could've added real weight and stakes to its more important "running and skating" moments.
The absence of these features inexplicably in a "game..." are precisely what failed to elevate it. It genuinely makes me believe that the team behind Mixtape spent more money on the lootcrates they sent to game journalists with custom designed gadgets, if we ignore the extremely expensive music licenses.
Let's assume I'm wrong... the developers have openly spoke about how much "time and effort" went into their tongue kissing minigame, how they had to create their own system for the "strands of saliva." Fucking... why? This literally added nothing to the game outside of a cheap quick gag (pun intended). What kind of braindead creative decision led them to spend most of their budget on this?
And remember: the game is called "Mixtape," they literally could not even get the Mixtape that the ENTIRE GAME is based around designed right. Nor could they be bothered to learn how cassette tapes actually... work... something that 10 minutes of research could've accomplished. The point in saying all this, is that Mixtape is fucking LAZY. Thrown together, hastily designed slop that probably used AI being called a "generational masterpiece" by journalist retards who are deeply out of touch.
Anyways, if anyone looks you in the eyes and tells you that Mixtape is some "higher art" that we simply cannot comprehend, and in fact it's a 10/10 masterpiece... I want you to laugh that person out of the room, and inform them that their opinions are forever invalid.

English

@NezahualDoomer2 @ALegendaryDrops I don't think it's a self-interest. I think they proposed the game specifically to appeal to Megan. They made the game for her, and that's all that mattered, in the end.
English

Guys, you just don't get it.
This is a game made for middle aged teenagers.
Polygon@Polygon
You aren't supposed to 'like' the hero of Mixtape polygon.com/mixtape-stacey…
English

@Victor_Hedrust @MasteroftheTDS @WritingRaven2 The wild part is you could absolutely make a 10/10 Vibe & Chill "game" like that space. But you'd need creators with self-reflection, emotional depth and intellectual curiosity. Which you got none of. Background designers were good, though.
English

@fumoossfruunk @Polygon The Boy would have died in the meth scene. That girl would have OD'd on Oxy in the early 2010s. The central character would be an SSRI-addicted harpy, that absolutely would have gone to the Hat March in 2016.
English

@Mankosmash @ALegendaryDrops I think it's targeted to people on drugs, legal or not. Because anyone that grew up from the 80s through 2000s would recognize the "going to fail at life" archetypes they used. No one actually liked those losers in high school.
English

@ALegendaryDrops It's made for people old enough to have nostalgia for stuff from the late 80s to mid 90s - so like 40+ year old millennials who "just want to feel things", but don't want to have to use their brains to follow something like a plot or any gameplay.
