@Halsrethink are they really right wing because as soon as they come to power they seem to take left wing stances?

Polls across Europe are showing swing to the right politically. Italy's PM Giorgia Meloni visited Washington last week and convincingly showed Congress&press a new European type of leader in broad alignment with US has emerged

"Support from the United States can help ensure a stronger Italy, a more secure Mediterranean, an end to the conflict in Ukraine, and a Europe that stands free against China’s aggression," write @JJCarafano and @stegraziosi. @heritage trib.al/WO3lnIT

Reflections as I leave Argentina: - Incredible trip. As good as any I have ever taken. Can’t recommend it enough. - From a diversity perspective it has it all. Beaches, jungles, waterfalls, grasslands, cities and mountains. - The older generation prefers Maradona while the younger generation prefers Messi. Murals featuring both are all over the place. - Despite the countries fiscal problems, the people all seemed very happy. - Said country’s fiscal problems allow for a first class itinerary at a fraction of the cost of traveling elsewhere. - Carrying cash in a country whose currency had already plummeted and fell another 5% in the few weeks I was here is a pain in the *ss. - Uber exists here but is very slow…. - The last time I ate this much beef I was a teenager in Nebraska. - Dulce de Leche is most likely served in Heaven. - Chori Pan is a much better street food than a hot dog - The whole country is addicted to Yerba Mate and even carry it with them when venturing into the jungle and onto the tops of mountains. - Driving a stick shift (for the first time in 20 years) on a snowy mountain back road will lead to some “fun” conversations with your family. - The cab driver was happy to accept USD when he dropped us off at the Airport. 😅 🇦🇷💃🐒🏔️🌨️🎿⚽️🏟️

The SEC's approval/rejection of the Blackrock ETF would come by February 2024, within 240 days of filing in the Federal Register. 👇 The SEC has a maximum of 45 days from the date of filing to publish a notice of the application in the Federal Register. After this initial notice, there is a 45-day period for interested parties to submit comments, followed by an additional 45-day period for responses to those comments. The SEC may then extend the review period by up to 90 days, making the total review period up to 240 days. This extension typically occurs when the proposed ETF raises complex or novel issues that require additional time for thorough evaluation.

We mentioned bruteforcing earlier. If a string is short or comprises of common dictionary words, it can be cracked by a fast computer. Longer strings, or strings with additional random characters (what we call a "salt") make it harder for a computer to guess the string (6/9)

There are two primary uses cases for this: 1. Proving you knew something without spooking the market. You can commit to a prediction and reveal the string after the event plays out, thus having cryptographic evidence of your foreknowledge, without causing a disturbance (4/9)

@FatManTerra @adamscochran @0xShual @HsakaTrades Ok I posted another (roughly same complexity but not really any meaningful message) — if someone can tell me what this says then I’ll believe the unsalted bruteforce theory.

@LucaFury Bisping would've been the underdog vs most top 10 at the time. Francis didn't take the Jones fight. Gane will likely be the betting favorite against any top 10 HW even after the 2 losses.

Exactly. GSP didn’t take the Anderson fight but once Bisping becomes champ, boom, he’s suddenly back for one fight. I’m not blaming them, it’s a VERY smart career move. But it’s also transparent and hilarious how they fans follow along and get played like a fiddle.

@LucaFury you are looking at just the results but Khabib just made everyone look like a bum. Jones or GSP had fights where they made their opponent look like they were at the same level

Khabib could’ve put himself in the GOAT convo had he stuck around and beat more than a few top fighters. I would favor him over every current 155er, mostly likely by finish too. He could’ve left no doubt but instead he left all the doubt. We’ll never know how good he truly was. The losses of the GOATs or near-GOATs usually came via upset in fights they were expected to win. So simply favoring Khabib over other top LWs isn’t enough — he needed to go out and actually prove it, like the fighters ahead of him in the GOAT convo did.

@RJcliffordMMA @LucaFury results wise for sure but Jones lost a lot of rounds or even got his arm broken vs Vitor in a round he won. I don't remember Khabib getting a hard punch, kick or in a sub(Poirier didn't finish anyone by guillotine so I don't even count that)

Beyond that, the "flexibility" of left-liberal discourse rules is always fascianting to observe. This is a white guy sanctimoniously lecturing a woman of color on the realities of racism in the US, something that is barred except, as here, when it's done for the right party.

There's almost nobody in the country I'd rather vote for less than Nikki Haley. She captures everything horrible about the establishment GOP while incorporating nothing new. But this is the scummiest and most racist way to attack her, so of course liberals opt for that:

If employees of media corporations and left-liberal activist types would just be as candid as Sam Harris was there -- that the goal of defeating Republicans and especially Trump is so paramount that they'd do anything to do it, even censorship and lying - I'd respect it more.

Today's NYT article on Fetterman makes clear his incapacities and health challenges are far graver than were known. Nothing but the best of wishes to Fetterman and his recovery, but it's urgent to recall how aggressively and deliberately the media lied about this to elect him:
Steve Krakauer@SteveKrak

NYT is ready to tell the truth about John Fetterman - who remains in the hospital for a 3rd day - now that the truth doesn't matter. "a physical impairment and serious mental health challenges that have rendered the transition extraordinarily challenging" nytimes.com/2023/02/10/us/…

340k Twitter Blue Users and $28 million in annual revenue assuming people stay subscribed. Where is this new Twitter Blue creator revenue going to come from? Twitter is still in the red and now looking to start sharing its limited revenue.
Erin Woo@erinkwoo

scoop: as of mid-January, Twitter only had around 180k paid subscribers in the US, less than .2% of its monetizable monthly active users. with around 290k paying subscribers globally, this would imply just ~$28m in annual revenue — 1% of Twitter's total theinformation.com/articles/musks…

Billionaires lost $1.9 trillion in 2022. Elon Musk lost $115 billion. Jeff Bezos lost $80 billion. Mark Zuckerberg lost $78 billion. None of this has any real consequence on their daily lives. Hoarding wealth like this is grotesque.
