@dolawanle @ManUtd @ChampionsLeague PSG have been in the UCL consistently for the past decade. United have not been. They can’t compete with clubs like that at this time. The process can’t be skipped. It’s laughable that you’re using Enrique’s comments to determine your expectations for United.

I hope the management of @ManUtd listened to Luis Enrique’s interview after winning his second @ChampionsLeague with PSG. He said they have to refresh the squad by getting new players. Manchester United needs to refresh its squad by bringing in quality players. Back Michael Carrick!

@Hepworthclare Think about it realistically Clare. Why would Farage want to win Makerfield? One MP makes little difference. Yet a Burnham win plunges Labour into turmoil of bitter infighting. The chances of an early election increase massively. And 99% certain he gets a major Mayor. No Brainer

I'm probably wrong -but it seems to me ReformUKLtd is not taking the Makerfield by-election seriously. Why ? They've put up a duff candidate, Farage appears to have legged it & the campaign is lacklustre. I think they want AB to win- challenge KS for leadership & then call a GE.

Understand that Patrick Dorgu's goal has been checked by the Goal Accreditation Panel and will stand, meaning Bruno Fernandes' 21 assists stand as the new record. Replays raised questions over whether it should have been an own goal after a rebound. football.london/arsenal-fc/new…

The illegal assist awarded to Bruno Fernandes yesterday against Brighton is expected to be removed; the goal will count as an own goal. Football integrity is already under scrutiny.

🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: A video currently going viral on social media appears to show that Patrick Dorgu’s goal may actually go down as an own goal. The footage suggests the ball hit the crossbar before going in off Bart Verbruggen’s hand. If confirmed, this could mean that Bruno Fernandes has NOT broken the assist record.

The reality of owning an EV. My 20 plate Hyundai Kona with over 70k miles, still has as much full charge range as when it was new. Battery degradation is minimal and the car has a “reserve” it enables as the vehicle ages. I will not need a battery replacement in the lifetime of the car. Fears of battery failure largely stem from the experience of the Nissan Leaf, which was an early attempt to make an affordable EV when the technology wasn’t quite up to it - so its range was short and lack of thermal management of the battery made it degrade over time. There is a meter on the dashboard that shows how much full capacity remains; sometimes unscrupulous dealers would reset the computer on second hand ones so they misreported the battery as perfect. This isn’t a risk with modern electric cars. They age well, and this means that you can buy with confidence on the used market - which is critical to wider adoption. We can’t all afford new cars, after all.

@atom7375 @policy_uk Payroll shouldn’t be an expenses scandal as some make it out to be, but half these issues shouldn’t be dealt with by a legislator.

“Glorified Citizens Advice” is a bizarre way to describe constituency casework. MPs’ offices deal with housing, immigration, benefits, the NHS, councils, departments, prisons, defence issues, local crises and legislation. That work needs paid staff. People want “fair pay”, but apparently not for the people answering constituents’ emails, preparing casework, running surgeries and keeping an MP’s office functioning. The £231k figure is not Carla Denyer pocketing £231k. The breakdown shows the vast majority is staffing and office costs. Payroll is not personal enrichment. Office rent is not a luxury. Travel between Parliament and constituency is not a scam. Cutting MPs to 425 would not cut the public’s need for representation. It would just give each remaining MP more constituents, more casework, larger offices and an even weaker local link. Which in turn would result in higher staffing costs, ergo, expenses. This is not scrutiny. It is taking a headline number, ignoring the breakdown, and hoping people mistake staff wages for an MP’s personal spending.

£231k expenses. These numbers are obscene. Cut the Commons to 425 MPs and save a small fortune. The quality of debate in there is now so poor we will not notice 225 disappearing !

France dropped an absolute SENSATION with Monroe — was one of the strongest entries of the entire night… and it only managed 11th place. The song was chef’s kiss, the staging was luxe, the vocals were flawless. How on earth did this not crack the top 5 #Eurovision #France
