Being an artist is so dope. You just throw all your mental illness out there and people look at like dang that's so neat. And then you die poor.

@alchemic_forest @ALCrego_ Damn.. I guess this really wouldn't go away completely most especially in a space like this that's new and also pair it with crypto 😅

@ALCrego_ Unfortunately, the same elitist bullshit is happening in the Tezos world, for example on Objkt... A few overbearing “curators” shine the spotlight on a small clique of the same old “friends” and keep everything else in the dark

Weewoo I completed another artwork... but I don't know where to mint it nowadays. 😂I've been focusing my energy on reading, studying colors, stuff to improve my art, etc. Anyway, most of the art you'll see from me will be experimental and will change style often - especially now that I don't really want to care about "branding" or being recognizable in one look. I just want to create.

Today I completed my 6th year in this space. This day my art was minted for the first time and it completely changed my life. I met some of the best people, had some of the happiest moments and created life time memories. I have grown so much as a person since then and my art has recorded that growth and change in me in many ways. From a 20 year old kid who painted on canvas, trying to figure out crypto, metamask, wtf is eth, how to mint, why nft? to someone who enjoys creating digital works involving blockchain or community participation whenever possible, to someone who considers NFT as one of the most innovative mediums opening up great possibilities. I have learnt so much and inspired by many around me. This was a very new world to me, no one I knew was in crypto. This space started as a secret place for me to share my vulnerabilities through art but became my whole life. Thanks to everyone who has followed my journey, been my friend, encouraged me, and supported me🙏

@bryanbrinkman @NatalieShau Does the image/file still exist on the storage or does sending it to burn wallet just “deletes” it somehow? Though I get the blockchain part of it, just not on the file level 🤔

@NatalieShau Burnt art still exists, it's just no longer tradable (and if it's sent to the burn wallet, Opensea will hide it), but it still very much exists on the blockchain.

A lot of artists feel pressure to constantly produce something new, especially in a culture shaped by short attention spans and the constant demand to stay visible. But the artists whose work stays with me are usually the ones who take their time. They return to certain themes, visual languages, subjects, or mediums, explore them from different angles, and slowly build an interesting and differentiating body of work. You can feel when something comes from a place of patience rather than pressure. In a world full of AI slop, anyone can generate one good image. Building a real body of work is much harder to fake.

@UnknownCo123 @MagdaGangsta Social media and the algorithm made us this way. I could only imagine how much “time” the artists had before the internet. When 24 hours felt so long and they can be so productive. When months of hiatus were okay and probably not even noticed. Everything is so fast paced now

If you are entering Cryptoart (which I doubt), what I learned after 10 years deeply immersed on it: - Don't be critic (despite you are a master of your craft). - Don't give your opinion about 'masterpieces/grails' that are what we did as TESTS 20 years ago. -Don't try to 'educate' curators, even less self proclaimed curators that discovered our practice decades after we developed and mastered them. -Don't try to give advice to collectors when they are buying CRAP for huge amounts (despite time later this works worth ZERO. -Don't denounce harassment and bad behaviours in platforms, you will be forced to leave the platform while those causing huge harm can be there with no problem. -Use memes in your work, despite you don't care or never understood what memes mean. -Don't talk about your past trajectory, even less when it was FULL focused on Cryptoart/Digital art. It can 'break' the narrative of all previous points. -Don't do good art, new aesthetics and narratives. They will be stolen and applauded, as long as it's not 'you' developing them. -Don't denounce copymintint and thefts. You will be accussed of complaining while the copyminters and thefts, enjoy and benefit, with no punishment. And OVER ALL, do not try to be an independent and sovereign artist, despite this was the MAIN POINT of Cryptoart. Enjoy!

I (and many of the artists I know) deserve to be accepted without filling a google form lol I will do it true CT style If you like me send your acceptance in reply🤍 @SuperRare My first mint was in March 2020, an artist in the space since 6 years (still here) In these years I have explored various ways of using NFT (and blockchain) as a medium to express my ideas and stories in more interactive and symbolic ways Website- 0xmj.com I create works related to mental health, emotions, vulnerability and feelings we find hard to word. My art is about my journey of understanding myself and people around me I also create works related to my experience as a chess player for 10+ years

people celebrating that @superrare brought back Artist applications (right after the backlash from the AI post). You must forgot they never even looked at the old applications from 2021, artist were onboarded based on hype or for knowing someone. It was never the application.
