Subnautica 2 devs say "go play Sons of the Forest" if you don't like its lack of violence.
The game focuses on underwater exploration, and you cannot kill most creatures.
On the official Discord, one player asked why killing is impossible in SN2 as it makes no sense. Level designer Artyom O’Rielly replied,
“This is not a killing game, so go play Sons of the Forest if you want to kill.” Another developer said, “The team discusses this a lot inside the studio and may let players catch small fish for food, but large creatures will stay safe so the game feels right.”
This idea comes from the first Subnautica, as the team wants players to discover things, feel wonder, and live with ocean life instead of fighting it.
A fan-made mod already lets players kill creatures, and the studio is reading all feedback. It plans to add better ways to scare off creatures but will not add weapons.
Early access is expected to last up to 3 years.

@Bullslayer67661 @asubparusername It's not really hard to kill anything once you get the stasis rifle. Just takes a while but, there is basically no way for them to fight back once you get the thing.

@asubparusername you kill to eat, not kill for sport, and its really hard to kill the bigger fauna like the reaper leviathans for example, you're much better off using a vortex torpedo and run away, the game promotes an anti destructive approach to the eco system.

sorry but the first Subnautica is not non-violent lmao. half of what you do in the early game is swim around and kill fish to eat, and half the time some other fish kills you. there’s not a ton of harmony with the environment.

The developers of Subnautica 2 want to keep the game non-violent like the first one. They want players to adapt and live with the ocean creatures instead of fighting or killing them with weapons. This core idea started years ago when studio founder Charlie Cleveland chose to leave guns out of the series after the Sandy Hook shooting. He wanted the game to feel like peaceful exploration of nature rather than adding more violence to the world. Even though fans from one country overwhelmingly asked for the chance to craft weapons in the sequel the team says this will be a repeated point of resistance. One developer explained "I think it's a point of resistance that we'll get repeatedly while making the game though we feel strongly about it." So players must instead use smart tools evasion and distraction to survive.

@Sherman4life8 @Anchovy_Pizza They kind of go over this in Saga of Pravda but basically the whole situation was fucked. Due to budget cuts they didn't have enough judges or even fuel to fly the surveillance plane. About 70% of what happened was due to gross incompetence.

This is very good. The A10 has been a victim of leaders that want newer shinier and more costly planes since 2000, but in each conflict they use them because there is no plane more effective at CAS. In fact I think the Air Force should reopen the line and build new ones.

@JayNinjago2011 @cvbi7_ It's not hard at all, Citroen has had that tech for something like 60+ years and any American car from the 70s is similar. Went away mostly cause it causes the car to have huge amounts of body roll and handling plays a part in crash tests. Also expensive and heavy.

@Fuoco136 @scout1240 @AlexHollings52 Bombs are way more accurate than the GAU-8, that things dispersion may as well be measured in degrees it's got like a 10% hit rate. Most of what an A-10 uses is in fact guided bombs and missiles.

@scout1240 @AlexHollings52 I'm guessing because of how it's slow and armored it's able to more accurately provide CAS than just a single bomb or two from the F-35.
Especially with the GAU-8 meaning it doesn't really need to just use bombs
