After nearly 4 years working within a large healthcare system, I made the decision to take a different path. Today was DAY 1 of building something of my own. I decided to start my own private practice with one clear purpose: to put patients first always. Not driven by systems, quotas, or accepting burnout as the norm, but focused on doing what's right for each individual. My goal is simple: to provide high-quality urological care where patients feel heard, respected, and never rushed. Grateful for the journey so far and even more excited for what's ahead. #LebanonPA #centralPA #Urology #MedTwitter #MensHealth #PrivatePractice

Extremely grateful to share that I matched at @MethodistHosp for Internal Medicine training. Truly thankful to my incredible mentor @almallahmo for his guidance and unwavering support, and to the entire Houston Methodist family for their trust and support. This wouldn’t have been possible without Dr @WilliamZoghbi @HeartToProve @ mahmoudalrifai Excited to continue learning and growing with the Methodist community! #Match2026

Solid advice but I strongly think that Step 2 score is by far the most important and hardest hurdle to overcome, all the other factors do matter, but nothing comes close to the importance of getting a great score on this exam.
Dr. Iftikhar khan@DrIftikharkhann

What actually matters the MOST for matching in 2027? Step 2 score? Research? Networking? A balanced profile? Applying strategy? Or… just luck? After working closely with 67 applicants in the 2026 Match cycle, where 42 successfully matched.....

#USMLE Step 2 CK doesn't really have a single book like First Aid for Step 1. So while studying #UWorld, CMS forms, AMBOSS, and NBMEs, I started writing my own notes — collecting the most important DDx, clinical patterns, and exam traps. #Medtwitter

USMLE Tip: An easy way to boost your score is to choose the right music to play the morning of your test. Crank the volume. Jump around your living room. Get fired up. Here's the playlist that has worked for me for exams since college: 1. Welcome to the Jungle - Guns n Roses 2. Cult of Personality - Living Color 3. Kickstart my Heart - Motley Crue 4. Jump Around - House of Pain

I need to write a letter of recommendation for someone and I tried asking ChatGPT to generate a first draft. It was terrible. All fluffy, over-the-top, meaningless language. Just a run-on list of cheesy buzzwords. "...displays a combination of intellectual rigor, scientific curiosity, and persistence." "...when faced with challenges—whether technical setbacks or interpersonal constraints—{student name} approaches them methodically and constructively." I don't recommend using AI to write your personal statements or other letters. It won't sound authentic. And it's just bad writing.

#Match2026 1/ I have received numerous messages from applicants for guidance after the match. Although some were unmatched candidates, to my surprise there were other candidates who "didn't match at their top choice" or had to "SOAP into a spot".

List Of Internal Medicine Programs Known to Consider Older Graduates! If you have a graduation gap, these Internal Medicine programs are often considered more flexible compared to others. While nothing is guaranteed, these programs have shown openness toward older graduates when the overall profile is strong. • The Brooklyn Hospital Center - New York • New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital - New York • St. Michael's Medical Center / New York Medical College- Newark, New Jersey • UPMC Mercy - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania • United Health Services Hospitals - Johnson City, New York • St. Mary Medical Center - Langhorne, Pennsylvania • Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida - Miami Beach, Florida • Old Dominion University - Norfolk, Virginia • Broward Health Medical Center - Fort Lauderdale, Florida • Palmetto General Hospital - Hialeah, Florida Important Insight: Programs may consider older graduates if you compensate with • Strong "Step 2 CK score" • Recent "US Clinical Experience (USCE)" • Updated "Letters of Recommendation" • Consistent clinical or research activity (no unexplained gaps) A graduation gap is not the end, but you must prove recent clinical relevance and readiness. #IMGJourney #InternalMedicine #ResidencyMatch #USMLE #MedicalStudents
