No. Most of the reviews state that the book misses major themes from the story, and being I loved the book so much I don’t want it visualized and told as a interpretation. Didn’t say anything about dark people. That being said, I wouldn’t care if Batman was black or Asian… but Greeks should be played by Greek looking actors. Still, as long as actors are doing a good job, fit the story, I don’t care. In short stfu

Just saw “The #Odyssey”. It’s a masterpiece the world needs. Right now. And I think the woke casting choices were part of the film’a PR agenda. Made everyone talk about the film, but unlike previous issues that made people want to boycott something, people largely don’t know enough about Homer’s work to be that outraged. And actually want to see what the fuss is about. Which is good. Everyone should watch it.

A lot of programmers are basically fans of programming itself. It’s all about them. They have mastered Rust or Haskell or Zig or whatever, but their objects of veneration are useful mainly as a backdrop to their own cleverness. Anyone who will spend six weeks rewriting a working system in a new language to make the types nicer is more into the rewrite than the product. Extreme technical obsession may serve as a security blanket. If you are the person who knows every flaw in the architecture, every impure abstraction, every place where the old code fails to express its true intent, you already know what to say in every meeting, which is so much safer than asking whether users care. Your obsession with refactoring is your beard. If you know absolutely all the trivia about borrow checkers, effect systems, async runtimes, and build tools, it saves you from having to know anything about customers, deadlines, support, sales, documentation, or whether the thing actually helps anyone. That’s why it’s excruciatingly boring to talk to such people: they’re always asking you questions they know the answer to, and never shipping anything that answers a question users actually asked.

This is the kind of graph future documentaries pause on before saying, ‘By then, the warning signs were obvious.

@jasonfried @edimoldovan People wrote sloppy code as well. Sharepoint, Norton, iTunes (win version), Skype, Wordpress, Lotus Notes... AI just accelerates the slop if you don't care, and helps you avoid it if you do.

Bragging about how much software you’re shipping with AI is like holding down the shutter button and bragging about how many photos you took.

@ThoNg676733 No contact, NL runner never crossed the lane line and finished first with chest over the finish line. Check all available videos and the rules, all is clear.

This is eye-opening. A fast food job in the US pays significantly more than AI developer jobs in France or Germany, which have higher salaries than most other European countries. Europeans simply don’t notice how poor they become compared to others. Choices have consequences.
