Hey, remember when Pete Buttigieg and President Biden made airlines give passengers instant refunds if a flight was canceled, and then Trump reversed it and then bankrupted Spirit Air?

NBC News reports that Spirit Airlines was forced to shut down after Trump’s failed war in Iran caused a “massive and sustained increase in fuel prices." When you pay more to travel this summer, please thank our mentally gifted president.

" Whoever gets it done has actually done a favour to all! "
K.Annamalai@annamalai_k

I bow down to the people of TN for your verdict. Happy to see in my land, people have risen in one voice and spoken 1. No to buying of votes 2. No to dynastic Politics & yes to a generational shift in politics. Whoever gets it done has actually done a favour to all! Congrats and best wishes to TVK & Thiru @TVKVijayHQ avl for a spectacular debut in TN politics. Let Almighty be with you to do what you intend to do. And to all NDA candidates, it was a hard-fought battle on the ground. Congrats to all those who won, and for those who couldn’t register a victory this time, let’s keep fighting. Commiserations to Thiru @mkstalin avl & Thiru @Seeman4TN avl for your loss in this election! Finally & most importantly, I thank my dear @BJP4TamilNadu cadres and leaders for toiling hard on the ground. Better times will come soon!

Infact BJP is the liability for annamalai, not the other way around. He'd do well if he just firms his own party.

Unless they give free reign to annamalai to run TN party as he sees fit, BJP is not going to ever get into double digits again. If they want Tamil votes, they need to make their state unit look so independent that it almost operates as a different entity altogether.
JB@JBtwet

If BJP is serious about winning even a single seat in Tamil Nadu in 2029,break alliance with admk, make K. Annamalai state president again... Otherwise🦆loading in 2029 Tvk+ Congress will sweep in 2029...

Surviving with both DMK & ADMK in the opposition will be a challenge. They know every inch of the state & it's politics, they literally built it.

When Sandeshkhali happened, not a word from many feminist, Dalit, or Adivasi pages on her, coz their “liberal progressive” drama starts & ends with filters..So let me tell you her story: > She is a Sandeshkhali victim of TMC leaders > They were exploiting villagers, sexually assaulting women, killing men, and grabbing land > In 2024, she & other women came out with sticks and brooms on TV > After that, TMC's Sheikh Shahjahan was arrested > She exposed how TMC leaders used to pick women & girls and take them to party offices > Villagers hadn’t been able to vote since 2011 > In 2024, PM Modi called her, praising her courage > She was first given a ticket from Basirhat in 2024, but she lost > Then she was given a ticket from Hingalganj , today she won Do you know how many people voted for her? 100,207 Not your fancy views or likes, the real votes.

@ShekharGupta You talk about how youth is impatient with old school politics and then go on to talk about marginalization of minorities. You are in the camp of Stalin & mamata and are outdated. Also how is it that there are no other communities in your 'minorities' camp except Muslims??

1. Voting done, results out & all 3 non-BJP-ruled states have seen their incumbents decimated. West Bengal, Tamil Nadu & Kerala have thrown up different insights & lessons. Here are my key takeaways in #NationalInterest.   2. First Bengal. So far, welfare & identity politics worked for Mamata. But, lack of visible development & the old, Left Front-era ‘dadagiri’ finally defeated her. Of course, BJP threw everything at her. But the lesson is, just welfarism & identity politics won’t keep working for you. Not for the 4th time. You need development.   3. West Bengal & Tamil Nadu underline the limitations of regional identity politics. Both Mamata & Stalin built their pitch against Delhi, Hindi domination, & an unfair Centre. Neither appreciated that their young people were impatient. It’s that grievance that led Joseph Vijay to success.   4. Vijay’s rise isn’t unprecedented. Both Sri Lanka & Nepal, the two genuine democracies across our borders, had already seen rank outsiders sweeping aside established parties. The lesson, therefore is, people, especially the young, can get bored with the same old, same old. If a fresh face emerges with new ideas & a clean slate, they’ll take their chances.   5. We’ve seen the marginalisation of the “minority” vote. It’s the logic of Partition that Muslims are scattered even in states where their numbers are significant. Their vote matters if the leaders they trust build coalitions with significant sections of the Hindus.   6. End of the political Left has looked so inevitable one can’t even claim boasting rights. Also, regional parties are on their way out. TMC will struggle to recover. AGP is BJP’s distant hanger-on. Shiv Sena is divided, Akali Dal a shadow of its glory days, NCP, DMK, JD(S) diminished, JD(U) headed into the sunset with Nitish Kumar, BRS broken, & BSP in perpetual hibernation.   7. Besides Kerala, this regionals’ decline is a positive for Congress. Many of these parties had either broken away from it (TMC, YSRCP, NCP), or vacuumed its vote banks (SP, BSP, RJD). If it’s willing to put its head down & be patient, this decline opens up spaces for Congress. Does it have the skill, guts, humility?   8. And finally, you’d err if you credit or blame BJP’s success only on Hindutva. It’s more than that. It’s Hinduised-nationalism. In democracies the world over, hard nationalism is back. Unless BJP’s challengers accept this, they’ll slip further into obscurity. The image of Rahul Gandhi in Nicobar to stop what the wider public opinion would see as a project of great strategic interest, fails this test. Today’s liberalism will have to first pass the test of hard nationalism.   9. Read #NationalInterest: theprint.in/national-inter… Watch #NationalInterest:    youtube.com/watch?v=891ikH…
