My report:
Israeli forces and Jewish settlers are making this "the most dangerous olive harvest season ever" for Palestinian farmers in the occupied West Bank. electronicintifada.net/blogs/tamara-n…

@elonmusk @SeedOilDsrspctr First thing I'd do is investigate and scrap the multi billion$$ gov contracts with space x and starlink because the guy who runs them, the richest man in the world, cuts corners, busts unions, and is using a presidential endorsement to grift even more money from taxpayers

Just learned from my father that gabagool and rigoth are very likely the skibidi toilet of new yorkers of the greatest generation. I'm devastated. #shattered #linguistics #gabagool #jamoke

@joaquinonino @MBTA Billerica would've been the perfect place for competitive shooting. What a loss to the global community.

This… Also, giving the @MBTA an urgency to give the Greater Boston Area a proper transit system under global pressure.

@joaquinonino We only recently moved to office365 with aptos. I'm not ready for Calibri to become the old man font that times new roman is. At least aptos is sans serif.

Is NY DOT on Windows XP? Vista? Calibri became standard in 2007.

After years of domination by Times New Roman 12 and its plain, basic AF sister font Arial, we entered the peaceful era of Calibri 11. I enjoy Calibri. It's all I want in text. The consonants are strong, yet subtle. The vowels delicate and smooth. I'm not ready for the Aptos era.

@Greenpointers @EmilyAssembly @CMJenGutierrez is there anything the state/city could do to incentivize or pressure the new buyer to keep crest as a tenant? Should be able to build units above or around the store.
This is a devastating loss for the neighborhood, best hardware store for miles.

Before they close for good, Crest will host a farewell celebration on August 24. greenpointers.com/2024/07/09/cre…

@GovKathyHochul It's true. I became very sad when I logged on to twitter a few weeks ago and found out that you cancelled congestion pricing just so people from new jersey can drive to shitty diners in midtown.

This is without a doubt one of the most important pieces of reporting on Gaza, and by far one of the most disturbing: 972mag.com/lavender-ai-is…
All by Israeli journalist @yuval_abraham based on whistleblower accounts from within the IDF and intelligence agencies.
Israel has developed an AI called "Lavender" to generate kill lists, with almost no human verification to double check the targets selected by the machine: only a a “rubber stamp” check of about “20 seconds” just to make sure the AI target is male.
Moreover, the Israeli army "systematically attacked the targeted individuals while they were in their homes — usually at night while their whole families were present — rather than during the course of military activity". In fact Israel developed another automated system called “Where’s Daddy?” used "specifically to track the targeted individuals and carry out bombings when they had entered their family’s residences" 🤮
One of the intelligence officers who spoke to Abraham is quoted in the article: “We were not interested in killing [Hamas] operatives only when they were in a military building or engaged in a military activity. On the contrary, the IDF bombed them in homes without hesitation, as a first option. It’s much easier to bomb a family’s home. The system is built to look for them in these situations.”
In fact the article reveals a ratio, I think for the first time: "according to two of the sources, the army also decided during the first weeks of the war that, for every junior Hamas operative that Lavender marked, it was permissible to kill up to 15 or 20 civilians... The sources added that, in the event that the target was a senior Hamas official with the rank of battalion or brigade commander, the army on several occasions authorized the killing of more than 100 civilians in the assassination of a single commander."
A ratio of 20 civilians killed for one target works out to about 95% civilian deaths.
Please do read the whole article as it describes in details how the whole process works with the Lavender AI. It's industrialized extermination the likes of which we haven't seen since... you know when.

"Blinken says he will spend the rest of his life thinking about the thousands of children killed in Gaza. I hope he and all the other criminals with blood on their hands will be haunted by Hind's face for every single second of the rest of their days." @krystalball

Just imagine we had the recording of a 6 year old Israeli girl, desperately ringing the emergency services after Hamas militants slaughtered her relatives in a car, including 3 other kids.
Imagine we also had a prior recording of her 15 year old cousin, desperately pleading for help, before you hear her being violently murdered by Hamas gunfire.
Imagine then an Israeli ambulance sent to rescue this little girl was then blown up by Hamas militants, killing both paramedics.
What would be the response?
You know what the response would be.
It would be offered up as evidence of the supreme evil and barbarism of Hamas.
We would be told it showed they’re worse than the Nazis.
It would also be offered up as justification for the need to wipe Hamas off the face of the earth.
Every politician in the West would issue statements dripping with grief and righteous fury.
None of that has happened here.
Instead, the West continue to arm and back Israel’s mass slaughter, with occasional handwringing which its politicians know has zero impact on the behaviour of Israel.
Even as Israel commits some of the worst atrocities of the 21st century - live streamed for the world to see - these Western powers refuse to describe a single act of Israel as a war crime.
Two things.
Firstly, none of this is to downgrade the value of Israeli civilian life. The value attacked to Israel innocent civilians’ lives is correct.
It is just transparently not applied to Palestinian life.
Indeed, secondly, it is nauseating that I even have to indulge in these
“imagine if!” scenarios.
It becomes necessary because Palestinian life has been stripped of nearly all value.
In South Africa’s submission to the ICJ, this horror was described as the world’s first live streamed genocide.
I think even more than that, it’s the live streaming of the suicide of the West.
Much of the world already regarded the West’s claims of moral superiority with contempt.
Well, contempt doesn’t even begin to describe those sentiments now.
I don’t think it’s remotely appreciated how much fury at Western power - which has shrunk with every major conflict involving Muslim nations in the 21st century - is being whipped up.
Finally, this nauseating episode has answered a question I’ve always been haunted by when studying the atrocities of the past.
How did so many people who regarded themselves as humane, moderate, “normal” become so willingly complicit in self evident evil, either by not speaking out or actively cheering it on?
Well, think of the badly decomposing remains of Hind and her family, and the incinerated remains of the paramedics sent to save her, and there’s your answer.
There’s your answer!
Al Jazeera English@AJEnglish
The body of six-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab has been found decomposing in the car where her family were killed by Israeli gunfire in Gaza City. A few metres away, the ambulance sent to rescue Hind was burnt out with the remains of two medics inside ⤵️

@MSNBC He's a lying senile scumbag, pretending to be all sad and talking about "aid" after encouraging and bankrolling 4 months of genocidal destruction, then more recently defunding the main UN relief agency in Gaza based on unfounded lies. Too bad the rest of us have a memory.
