Think of a doctor as a national investment. A doctor takes: • 5 years of MBBS • 1 year of house job • years of postgraduate training • public hospitals, teachers, wards, patients and exams This is not cheap. So when low pay pushes doctors out, Pakistan loses more than one employee. Pakistan loses years of training, skill, experience and public investment.
