For the last decade young women have been immersed in a culture that frames men less as partners & more as potential threats who are oppressive and dangerous. When every institution reinforces that relationships are where women lose freedom and men fail them, it’s not surprising that girls have become more cynical about marriage

Women should have 2 goals in life: 1 - Find a good man who will marry them and give them children 2 - Do everything in their power to make that man happy and please him. To not get lazy and become a lazy Feminist like is accepted by Society. These two choices will save society.

Because marriage doesn't benefit women. Marriage is slavery to them. It ties them down and stops them from finding themselves, enjoying their freedom, and achieving their goals.

@LisaBritton I work MORE than my wife (who works from home), make 1/4 of what she makes, and do a roughly equal share of household chores/parenting. And somehow I'm still the villain.

We need a cultural shift away from thinking fathers who work a lot are like Mad Men, not-really-loving-dad types. I have a friend who has a very successful business. During his kids’ younger years, he worked 18 hour days. Sometimes he’d only be home with his kids 4 days a month. He tells me how much pain that caused him, and he feels so guilty now that he can’t get that time back. Now that his kids are older, entering adulthood, and he works a lot less, he tries to be with them as much as possible, but he still feels bad that he missed so much time. I think a lot of fathers, even in the old days, are on that same page.

@WendyRWang I'm of the belief that girls are less interested due to feminist narratives that marriage is bondage and motherhood is slavery. And career uber alles. Coupled with economic realities it's driving down marriage rates, fertility/birthrates, and family formation.

The interesting question is what's driving this gender gap, now that girls seem less interested in getting married and having kids than boys.

@KarolineGosling Masculinity is not toxic. *People* are toxic. Some of those people are male, some are female. Are there more toxic males or has feminism vilified traditional masculinity so much that, to women, it can only appear toxic? I think this is the real question.

The entire concept of male privilege evaporates when you realize the few men at the top of society have literally no investment in the problems of the other 99.9% of men. Men disproportionately populate the entire bottom class of society and not a single soul advocates for them
