Because I kept optimizing the wrong metric
Average Win Rate: 72%
Looks impressive, until you calculate the only thing that pays rent:
Expected Value (E):
E = 0.72 × $35 − 0.28 × $165 = $25.2 − $46.2 = −$21
Meaning: even when I was right, the average trade was bleeding $21
That 72% wasn't skill
It was a beautifully disguised leak
So I rewired the system
Win rate dropped to 39%, and the account climbed +215% in six months
E = 0.39 × $580 − 0.61 × $85 = $226.2 − $51.85 = +$174.35
I didn't add indicators. I didn't find a secret session
I changed one thing:
I stopped collecting wins and started collecting positive expectancy
The score isn't how often you're correct
It's what you earn when you are, and what you surrender when you aren't
