Crypt hyperplasia in the intestinal lining is a hallmark of celiac disease, but a unified pathological model has not yet been established. Ludvig M. Sollid @stamnaes & team perform spatial proteomics on patient biopsy samples and experiments in mice, offering a new driver for crypt hyperplasia in #CeliacDisease—interferon-γ: jci.org/articles/view/… The figure: IFN-γ induces remodeling including proliferation of crypt cells (Ki67-labeled purple) in mice.
