#Kajaki dam on #Helmand River, in #Afghanistan is getting a brand new spillway as a part of rehabilitation program started in 2018 by Turkish firm 77iNSAAT. The new spillway will increase storage capacity to 2.02 billion m3 & recover part of lost storage due to #sedimentation.
Najibullah Sadid 🇦🇫@NajibSadid

#Kajaki Dam, #Afghanistan’s largest, reached full water storage capacity today. Rehabilitation work on the spillway is underway to recover water storage volume lost to five decades of #sedimentation. The animation 👇 compares the current inundation area at Kajaki to Jan 2026.

◾️The Pakistani airstrikes on a Kabul drug rehabilitation center last month were the deadliest attack on civilians in Afghanistan since the Taliban took over in 2021. ◾️The United Nations’ mission in Afghanistan has so far confirmed 269 civilian deaths, 122 injured, and says the death toll is likely higher. Taliban officials say more than 400 people were killed, which international humanitarian organizations operating in Afghanistan say is credible. ◾️Our reporting suggests that Pakistan missed its target. The real target was less than 300 yards away behind a blast wall and housed drone parts. It appears to be intact. ◾️Since early 2023, the Taliban have rounded up thousands of drug users and placed them in facilities at times tucked in military compounds, where they face unmedicated, forced withdrawal in conditions that foreign officials have described as arbitrary detention. ◾️Two days before the strike on the Kabul center, Pakistan hit an empty military building adjacent to a drug rehabilitation center in the southern province of Kandahar. No civilian casualties were reported. ◾️Pakistani military officials have suggested that the patients in Kabul were being trained to become suicide bombers. They have provided no evidence to back that claim. ◾️The strikes abruptly ended the lives of husbands, brothers and sons who struggled with depression, grief or the shame of unemployment, their families said. Many said their relatives had ebbed for years between erratic behaviors, domestic violence and glimmers of hope shattered by relapses. Free link to our story below

No one is talking about the influx of Afghans that were pushed out of Pakistan who are now homeless. This is a huge problem!

Afghan mother seeks justice after Pakistani bombing kills hundreds. Samira Muhammadi hopes an international investigation can "extinguish" her pain after a Pakistani bombing killed her son and hundreds of other Afghans in the capital Kabul. The Pakistani bombing of a drug-treatment center in a hospital in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, reportedly killed 411 people. If the attack is found to be intentional or reckless, it could lead to war-crime charges. Why is Pakistan not investigating? trib.al/ELtm4cB

Unlike today's players, Afghanistan has always made a positive social contribution to the region, the effects of which are still felt today. For example, the introduction of the RUPEE as a currency for the entire region can be traced back to the Afghan King SURI.

The Pakistani Ministers have a fetish to get run over again and again by the professional and inquisitive journalism of @SkyYaldaHakim. I mean these guys line up just to get brutally rammed again and again over their decades long support for terrorism with their clown faces and bold lies. I wonder. Why? 🤨

In continuation of Pakistan’s war crimes and crimes against humanity, carried out with the terrorist Taliban, three civilians, including a woman, have been killed and more than twenty others, including children, injured in Asadabad, Kunar Afghanistan. Targeting civilians is a blatant violation of international law and a war crime. The international community has remained silent, just as it has ignored the crimes of major powers, terrorists, and dictators, prioritising the interests of a wealthy minority in power. #PakistanIsATerroristState #TalibanAreTerrorist #WarCrimesInAfghanistan #TalibanComplicity #CrimesAgainstHumanity #KunarUnderAttack #JusticeForCivilians #EndOccupation #AfghanLivesMatter #PakistanWarCrimes #TalibanCollaborators

Once again, in Pakistan's missile strikes on Asadabad in Kunar province, innocent Afghan civilians—including women and children—have been targeted. One martyred and dozens injured. These are not security or counter-terrorism operations — they are direct aggression against unarmed Afghans and a blatant war crime. Pakistan is covering its failures with Afghan blood. We strongly condemn this continuous horror and call out the international community's shameful silence. Afghan blood is not cheap. Pakistan must be condemned and held accountable on the world stage. #KunarUnderAttack #Afghanistan #PakistanWarCrimes @UN @UNHumanRights @UNAMAnews @HRW @amnesty @ICRC @UNICEF @OHCHR
