What a day yesterday turned out to be! Fantastic end to the year with this Eurasian Scop's Owl putting in a fantastic performance on the edge of Broadstairs Cricket Club in Kent. 18 years since the Thrupp bird. Christ, that makes me feel old now!

Some more crappy early am photos. 2 bittern flew in to layby pit north from the direction of the visitor centre about 7.30. Showed a few times after that in flight with 1 moving to north central lake #Northantsbirds

A single calling pink foot flew NE from the main lake, Stanwick at first light. Also 8 cattle egret, 2 pintail, redshank and good nos of thrushes moving #Northantsbirds

The wind turned gale force N over Sunday night with storms and rain. Superb passage thro' Shabla tuzla Monday included a single flock of 84 spotshank, loads of other waders, terns and gulls. Also c100 red foot #Bulgariabirds
