But this is 2026. I just opened my @jup_mobile, toggled to spend mode, and scanned the pink DuitNow QR code on the counter. Total time? 3 sec. Fee? 0.00%. My $USDC sat on-chain moments ago, now it’s Roti Canai in my stomach. This is the new standard for how money moves in Malaysia. DuitNow QR transactions in Malaysia in 2025 alone is 3 Billion (doubled from the year before) ! APAC now commands over 60% of the world’s QR transaction volume, and the average Malaysian now makes over 538 digital payments per year. Cash is no longer king but liquidity is. MESOLITICA @ AWS GLOBAL Earlier this week, @mesolitica met with Slavik Dimitrovich at AWS Malaysia, during his "tour" of the region from AWS Summit Sydney to AWS Summit Tokyo this month. It was definitely a privilege for our humble startup since he is the Head of AI/ML at AWS Global 🤯 This 1-on-1 hour long conversation focused on both Applied LLM and local AI infrastructure requirements for AI Sovereignty. Wanting to cover as much as possible, I skipped my usual "Mesolitica Journey" pitch and went straight to our current R&D activities of localizised and private Speech-to-Speech (S2S) pipeline for AI Voice Agent use cases. These activities were ramped up ever since we got access to a new cluster of H100s in Malaysia thanks to NVIDIA which allowed us to: 🔸 Scale up training for MaLLaM 🌙 70B with SFT on Llama and Qwen. 🔸 Training MaLLaM 🌙 Dialect Reasoning on Qwen + DeepSeek's GRPO 🔸 Training new models for STT/ASR and TTS models 🔸 Training MaLLaM 🌙 for new guardrails and 🔸 Create local multi-node H100 benchmarks Sharing the recent experience with H100s was our way to indicate the need of latest AI hardware in Malaysia in order for us to eventually offer secured AI Voice Agents at scale cost effectively starting with banking and public sector verticals. With what we know today, we're confident to offer the S2S pipeline at RM0.50 per minute as the initial pricing and with a pragmatic goal to support 1,000 concurrent AI Voice Agents by end of 2026. My "pragmatic" can turn into "optimistic" if we see more H100s (at least) come online in Malaysia by end of 2025. After sharing our H100s experience and H1 2025 government engagements in particular our AI Voice (TTS) showcase with RTM Radio, we turned to new monetization strategy and insights around Amazon Bedrock and Amazon AI chips. Looking forward to explore and add Custom Model Imports (CMI) as a strategy for private LLM deployments.
