Last week I visited a @Walmart EV charging site in Springdale, AR, and interviewed the network's general manager, Adam Happel. I learned a lot about the network's plans, including new information, like how Walmart will soon add credit card readers to all the chargers, breaking from its current app-only authentication policy. Anybody get billed by @evgonetwork for a session they didn't have? I just received an email about an active session, so I checked my app and found that I'm being billed for someone else's active charging session. I called customer support and they stopped the session and told me it was authorized through Autocharge, which I have on my EVs, but I'm definitely not charging now. They couldn't say what vehicle was charging or the location, but at least they stopped it. Unfortunately, I am being billed for this unauthorized session until they can investigate and determine if it was me or not. Very weird.

The @Walmart EV Charging network is just starting to ramp up. They are at 50 sites now, and will likely have 100 in 3 months; and that's when it will really start to hit its stride. This is, no doubt, an industry game-changer. I spent the day in Springdale, Arkansas, talking with Adam Happel, Walmart's GM of EV charging. Just shy of 4 years of ownership of my @ford F-150 Lightning now. No problems to report, just about 50k miles in, and never regretting the purchase. About 75% of the electricity I've needed to charge came from my rooftop solar array which paid itself off about 6 years ago. It's probably only cost me about $1,500 to $1,700 to charge, including the DC fast charging I've done in four years. EV+PV rocks!
