I've been playing PoE2 for over a week now and I wanted to talk about my endgame impressions after reaching level 92 with the huntress. I'd like to highlight what really works for me and point out some shortcomings I'd hope to see addressed. Now this is HIGHLY subjective, but I'd love to hear your opinions! The endgame in PoE2 0.2 is vastly better than 0.1. THE GOOD: - Towers are now fun. - World-map Exploration is much more exciting - The league balance is overall much better. All major leagues seem good and useful to me. - Pinnacle boss balance is better - Unique strongboxes, unique tablets, unique maps, rogue exiles are all spicy and fun to find - There's more unique items to find - Waypoint level progression is perfect - Rares being visible on the minimap is a huge W - The spirit and gem upgrade system kept me very engaged and provides interesting decisions even if my build mostly stays the same. - Most bossfights are fun and satisfying in the endgame - The amount of portals and access to respawns is in a good place now! THE MEH: - Corruption/Cleansed mechanics are good, but need more content to stand out. Certainly better than 0.1 - The general endgame atlas tree is very unexciting and was likely better in 0.1 - Recombinator is pretty unrewartding and enforces a very non-fun gameplay loop that is a highway to burnout. - Omens are in a solid place, but they+boss is 90% of the worthwhile reward of ritual. Ritual in PoE1 just feels SO much more exciting. - Fracturing orbs are decent - Runes, Cores, Talismans all compete for the same 'upgrade' spot. The game could benefit a lot from having extra sockets or some 'Perfect Artificer's Orbs' allowing to add more sockets, before the corruption step. THE BAD: - Rogue exiles are unrewarding (but at least fun) - Azmeri spirits are unrewarding and unexciting - The endgame boss killing tree is in a very poor state: unrewarding, unexciting, also makes the encounter significantly more dangerous. - There's a lack of exciting endgame upgrades/opportunities, made even worse by the removal of jewel sockets from the tree - Enemies in the endgame overall and specifically bosses feel a bit unrewarding. This may not even be true, but I constantly have this feeling somehow. - Most of the new uniques are barely used. That being said, this may be partially, because the community is so Amazon/LightningSpear focused right now. - Simulacrum0 is WAY harder than most other encounters at level 2-4. - The state of defenses and defensive investments is not satisfying. - Endgame mana balance is making my fingers hurt. Even with investment into int and mana on tree, I keep spamming 2. Better flasks and flask automation would go a long way here. What do you think? What is your experience?
