Steven Spielberg explains why he didn't like 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' (1984) & why he felt he was fated to make the movie: “I wasn’t happy with 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' (1984) at all. It was too dark, too subterranean, & much too horrific. I thought it out-poltered 'Poltergeist' (1982). There’s not an ounce of my own personal feeling in 'Temple of Doom'. I look back and I say, ‘Well, the greatest thing that I got out of that movie was I met Kate Capshaw. We were married years later that to me was the reason I was fated to make 'Temple of Doom'.” ("Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom: An Oral History", Paul Bullock, Medium, 2017)

The creator of #KPopDemonHunters, Maggie Kang, dedicates her #Oscar “to Koreans everywhere”: “I am so sorry that it took so long to see us in a movie like this, but it is here. And that means that the next generations don’t have to go longing.” (via ABC/AMPAS) variety.com/2026/film/news…

Reminder that the US had no intention of fighting the Nazis until they were attacked and forced into taking action. They’ve pretty much never been on the right side of any war.

I think my favourite Seinfeld fact is that, according to a survey conducted at its peak, about 75% of the audience had no idea Jerry Seinfeld was supposed to be Jewish. They just assumed all New Yorkers were like that.

Anyway, Cate Blanchett should have won for Tár
